Do you have your template files set to update?
Check under General Settings in the admin panel.
Make sure that you have the box checked "yes" for that.

You might also want to try udating the module in the Module Admin area as well.

Have you tried iframes?
Or perhaps wrapping it using a module such as XT-Contenduo (I think that's how you spell it)
I would try the simplest route - iframes, first - just pull it into a custom block using html.

I have read several other posts but have not found a problem exactly like mine. Some of the other posts ask about custom sessions. They're turned off on my site.

Have you tried turning them on?
Set your custom sessions for an hour. It's worth a try.

The original site is written in html, so if you were to install XOOPS on the same root, it would not be visible unless you typed http://www.kunibakai.nu./index.php in the address bar. This allows you to create the site "behind" your current site, and when you are ready to go "live" with the XOOPS version, simply rename or remove the index.html page and the index.php will be the default.
This saves all the hassle of migrating and such.

Hello!
No, you are not alone in the universe...lol
Sometimes it just takes a few days for someone who has that kind of knowledge to help - there is lots going on, and I know they are busy trying to get things underway...
But that's not your issue.
I'm far from expert, but I might be able to help.
I upgraded a few sites, and managed to get it right somehow!
If you know that you followed the upgrade instructions TO THE LETTER, then try checking these things:
1. Make sure that the files on your server are CHMODed properly. (THAT was a huge issue with me and one host I used - they had a script running that changed my permissions "for my own good"!)
2. In the modules admin area, UPDATE all the modules.
3. In the Preferences admin area, make sure that your "Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory" is checked "yes".
4. In the Blocks, make sure all your pages are showing where you want them - make sure they are set to "visible".
5. Check User Permissions! I found that one out the hard way... a lot of my modules needed to be manually set for anon users and registered users... make sure each is set exactly right.
Hopefully that helps a little bit!!
If not, message again and I'll see if I can help more.
Cheers!

The short answer is "no".
If you use only one installation, you will be sharing the same files across all the sites.
Is space an issue?
I have about 30 XOOPS websites running on my server without any difficulties.

Here's a link to an article that might send you in the right direction:

Log into the admin panel and create a custom block.
Make sure it is set to be visible, and select the placement (centre, I would imagine).
Type your title in the text area (Welcome to my site! or whatever) and then below that, type your front page welcome message.
Set it to auto-format if you are just typing, not using HTML... click save!
It's very basic.
NOW having said that...
If you don't see it where you want it, check the blocks menu in the admin panel and make sure that the custom block you just created is set to centre, set to visible, and set to TOP PAGE.
That should do it.
Hope that helped!

Like what?
You need to be a bit more specific...
