Hi, gabrix and welcome to XOOPS!
So you've installed XOOPS....
WAY TO GO!
If you want to get rid of the "No Profile" problem, go into the modules area in the admin menu and deactivate extended profiles for the moment. That worked for me.
Which version of XOOPS are you running?

Warmest regards,
Lisa

THANKS, MARCAN!!!
I appreciate the help you gave me...
You were right - it was deeper than XOOPS - it WAS a new server configuration that altered something and the hosting company was able to track it down.
Your assistance in tracking down the problem and re-building mainfile.php was invaluable! I can't thank you enough!!!

Warmest regards,
Lisa

The brilliant mind of my favourite French-Canadian (Marcan) is currently helping with this issue, but any suggestions are more than welcome!
I'm told PHP is working fine (says Marcan) and that this is an "interesting problem"...

OMG...
The mainfile.php is now 0 kb.
Empty.
Nothing in it.
What do I do?

It happens to the whole site...
I have tried to get in every which way.
I emptied the cache, but no change.

Thanks for the speedy reply!

Warmest regards,

I've been running a site smoothly for months - no changes have been made, etc. It's been wonderful...
Today I am getting this error:

XOOPS path check: Script is not inside XOOPS_ROOT_PATH and cannot run.

Is this the host screwing around, or something that I need to fix?
(btw - I applied the manual fix that skalpa posted for the mainfile.php file, no change)

Thanks for whatever insight you can provide.
The site is:

TASS Reunion Website

Thanks again!

I think some fresh new themes would be fantastic!
I am a graphic designer. and pretty good at it too, if I do say so myself!
I would be delighted to create a few theme designs...
My problem is that I am unsure what requirements need to be met.
I am not a coder, and don't understand the techie stuff, otherwise I'd have been submitting themes for a long time. I usually end up simply modifying graphics in an existing design!
Is there anyone who can define the parameters of the design, and then make the design into a theme? I can do the design, just not the rest...

I think I understand what you're trying to do...
Have you considered using the Magazine module for your needs? I did something similar on one of my sites, and it worked pretty well. Check it out here:
Peterborough Shopper
You can simply click on "Magazine" in the main menu and you'll get a good idea of how it works.
Please excuse the unfinished site! Most is done, but there are still things to finish.
Hope that helps!
Lisa

After installing the poll module, did you update your CBB module? You might try that...
