ip bann doesn't work?

Hi all!
Unfortunately, I had to bann a user from my site today. I had his ip address, and entered it in the General Settings --> "Enter IP addresses that should be banned from the site." Ofcourse, I separated with a |.
But this user can still visit the website, log in etc.
How is this possible?

I erased the yim, aol, icq, url, interests, and location lines. It seems the lines are still there, but there is no text in it anymore. Also the lines with text in them moved up and the empty lines moved down. So now there are a few very thin empty lines at the bottom. How do I get rid of them?

Hi guys,

1. Left of this text are some details of me. How do I get rid of the "From" line?

2. I deleted some of the lines in both the 'Edit Account' and 'View Account' menus. In the Edit Account menu it turned out fine, but the View Account menu still shows the empty table lines below the ones where I didn't erase the lines. How do I get rid of those?

Hi guys!
On my forum, when a post has a very long word, or usually a long URL in it, XOOPS automatically adjusts the frame width and the menu becomes very narrow (and realy ugly aswell). Also, al horizontal scrollbar appears.
How can set a sort of 'Word Wrap' or a fixed frame width?

is my WF-section gone?

Hi all! A week or two ago, there was an error in the MySQL tables of my website. I re-installed XOOPS and put back a backup of the whole system. Almost everything works fine now, except for the WF-section.
In the administration menu I can see that the articles are still there, but there are no categories so the articles don't show. I can't make them myself however, because the system won't remember my settings.
I need some help overhere, please!

On my website:http://www.bondsscheidsrechter.nl there is the following text:

"This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

If you are the administrator of this site, please visit the XOOPS Troubleshooting Page for assistance.

Error [Xoops]: Unable to connect to database in file class/database/databasefactory.php line 34"

So what I did was look up databasefactory.php:
Line 33/34:

if (!$instance->connect()) {
trigger_error("Unable to connect to database", E_USER_ERROR);

------------
I think I use the newest XOOPS version. What are my options? Thank you very much in advance!

My website is back online now, working fine, except for one last thing:
The WFsection data is gone. Well not realy gone because in the 'Manage articles' area I can see all of them. But the categories are gone so the site can't show the articles. Is there any way to restore the categories from my backup?

Spoke my host on the phone yesterday. He told me that the tables were all messed up and that he had tried to restore a backup from the day before yesterday, but it didn't work. He suggests that I re-install the whole XOOPS system and he will try to restore the backup after that. Is this a good idea?
