Mozilla display bug?

Has anyone using Mozilla found that sometimes when viewing Xoops-based sites, the left column isn't displayed properly, and ends up taking up most of the display area?

I'm using Firebird and found that this happens occasionally on my site, but all I have to do is refresh the screen and then it's fine. However I've never seen this happen at the xoops.org site.

I've been working on my own theme, so I just want to make sure that I haven't messed up somewhere.

Actually it should be that straightforward. All you have to do is upload the module files into a subdirectory within the XOOPS modules directory. The module should then first appear at the bottom of the module admin page.

For example, if the module is "foo", the files should be found under "modules/foo", provided that "foo" is the directory as set up by the author of the module (this can be found in xoops_version.php, look for the line $modversion['dirname']).

I've been hacking away at a new version, which I'm calling "Lexicon", only because I'm making it more of an encyclopedia-style interface.

It includes a few changes and general cleanup of the code, although it's still missing templates and the option for notifications (I haven't yet figured out how to add this). The database structure is different, so it will have to be a new install and not an upgrade to those using the existing Glossary/Glossaire module.

I'm still in the middle of testing it, and I just had a look at the files and they are a bit of a mess, so I can't see releasing it anytime soon, but hopefully I'll have something available in a few weeks, if anyone wants it.

The on/off value is for whether or not you want to use a text area box or not (as opposed to a single text field). If you choose "yes", the 2nd and 3rd values are for the length and height of the box.

The bottom value is the name to use for any guest users in the chat (but from what I understand guests aren't allowed in it to begin with).

I've been fiddling with XoopsChat recently, but the admin area is sort of confusing: there are some settings with no description. There are two sections, one near the top, and the other at the bottom:

Resized Image

I've put ????? where the missing text is.

Any ideas?

Also, for the "Automatic deletion of chat messages" switch. Is this value in days, hours, or what?

Thanks
Brad

It looks like the "What's New" module.

Hey all,

Can anyone recommend a graphics tool for animated GIF manipulation/creation?

One specific thing I need to do is modify the colour of all the smilies packaged with Xoops. Since some are animated, I'm not too sure how I can go about doing this, short of finding a program to pull them apart and colourize each frame.

Thanks,
Brad

I'm trying to figure out a way to make these titles theme-specific. I'm not sure how <{$xoops_imageurl}> (usually embedded in HTML) can translate into something usable in PHP code.

Also, is there a path equivalent to $xoops_imageurl?

Yes, that's it exactly. I don't think you need to have an else statement unless you really need it (ie. you don't have to include an empty else condition). In the case of a registration link vs. a login window, then you would want the if/else structure. However if you just want to display "Hello <username>!" to all registered users, then you'd just use an if statement to display the message if a member is viewing the site.

You might want to take a look at the Xoops Wiki. This link takes you to the section covering global variables. It relates more to modules, however it should help you to better understand how the XOOPS system works.

Good luck!

Any ideas for this? I'm going to attempt to come up with something this weekend, and I'm not sure if there is enough beer and/or coffee in my apartment to stem my "creativity" for this one!
