There was a thread recently asking what we would like for new features in the next release of newBB. I don't remember if anyone mentioned anything like this, but I too, would like to have control over the sort order of the forums. I forgot I wasn't able to do that when I had newBB. Good call!

So am I! LOL Actually, I have 2 business partners and we are a registered corporation and do some business, but a nice web site with content and a shopping cart is deperately needed. (I can't wait for osCommerce for XOOPS to be all set!) I work on the site when I can. Now that winter is here, I should have more time.

...or allow users to select the media they wish to listen to or VIEW. A great application for this would be a site that has tutorials and such. ;)

I had thought about doing this for Cjay Content. I've already modified it so that it will work in a different directory than modules/cjaycontent. I'd like to use it for multiple sections, which brings me to my point. It would be great if in module installations you could define the installation directory and table names so you could use the same module for multiple sections. Just my 2 cents.

It sounds like a great idea to me, but why don't we take it one step further. Allow the user to select the type of referral, ie. Search Engine, Registered Member, etc. IF the user selects "Search Engine", display a drop-down menu where they could select the search engine, or for "Registered User" display a drop-down menu with a list of members. The only drawback would be if you have a large member base. :(

I can access my site either through smartautomation.com or www.smartautomation.com and XOOPS doesn't seem to care. If I just type smartautomation.com I'm automatically sent to www.smartautomation.com.

Good luck!

Well, porting to XOOPS isn't what I was saying is essential, but, I would rather have it as such. I think a FREE banner ad system with the payment option is essential. Yes, there's quite a few good ones out there, but at what price? Someone who is trying to get a small business going with close to no money but has a great business plan deserves a break.

Have fun!

It isn't an essential feature for most personal websites, but for those of us that would like to sell ad space, it is. Incorporating PayPal or any sort of online payment option into the ad software is the best way to go.

Where can we download your software? I went to your website but didn't see a download section.

Thanks!

Hi I am in the "choosing which server to host xoops" process and i would like to know your opinion on these services, if you heard something about them:

http://www.anhosts.com

thnx

I was with ipowerweb.com for a little while. They seemed alright at first, but then slowed down after a while. Other than that, I don't remember why I left. I went to cphosting.com after that. There were MANY occasions where I couldn't connect to the site and the speeds were just too slow. They claimed the problems were on my end, but I experience these issues at 3 different locations in the country. I am now with just-hosting.com and I have to say I am impressed.

Good luck!

There is one thing that would make newBB perfect for my site -- the ability to create subcategories.

Here's an example:
-----
(Category)Industrial Automation
(Sub-Category) Programmable Logic Controllers
(Forum) Allen-Bradley
(Forum) Automation-Direct
(Sub-Category) Sensors
(Forum) Proximity Sensors
(Sub-Forum) Capacitive
(Sub-Forum) Inductive
(Forum) Photoelectric Sensors

-----

I'd also like to see the ability to enable or disable posting in each category/forum. Invision limits you in this aspect. I would like to allow or disallow posting under "Sensors" for example.

I'm not sure is newBB allows for this or not, but if it's possible, it would be nice to allow or disallow for file attachments in each forum as well.

Keep up the great work with Xoops!

Thank you,
Christopher Zeman
