I found the same problem. You can try placing your banner ads directly in your theme.html file.

We plan to use this for most modules and as you may well know, we plan to totally upgrade newbb in the future.

Great news Catzwolf ! Finally some decent usage of XOOPS great group permission feature. Are these changes aimed for a 2.1.0 release? I'm very eager to know inparticular about the permissions for the downloads module as I'm currently looking at transfering all my downloads (major work) to the wmpdownloads module so I can make use of its permissions feature. If permissions are going to be built into the next major release of XOOPS (i.e 2.1.0) then I'll just wait for it as it'll save me a lot of work, as well as ensuring I'm not straying from the XOOPS core too much.

@archie

There is a Downloads module that includes the permissions features you're after. It's called wmpdownloads, but at present there are only Chinese and French language files included with it. As discussed in this thread, I'm more than half way through creating the English language files, and all things been equal should have it available for download on my site by the end of the week.

Looks to be a language thing. As in you're using a language that wf-section doesn't support. Just a guess though.

Permission features of wmpdownload module in mydownload module

Hi All,

I'm looking to be able to control permissions for the downloads section of my site so I can differentiate which downloads are available for anonymous users and registered users.

I know I can run multiple mydownload modules, but this still only gives me permission controls on the entire module, and increases administrative overhead.

There is a module called wmpdownload which give per catergory, per sub category and per file permissions which is about as granular as you'll ever need (perhaps with exception of having a read permission as well such as in rifraf's DMS).

To my knowledge there is currently no english version of the wmpdownloads module, which I'm currently in the process of correcting and am about 60% of the way through. My question is, is it possible to include these permission features into the MyDownloads module so that it is part of the XOOPS core?

Hi ronhab,

The auto login hack was implmented into the core files in 2.0.4, but just commented out. Uncomment appropriate lines (search for 2.0.4 auto login) and you should be away.

RSS feed noticeably effecting site load times?

Hi All

More an observation than anything. Today I removed the RSS feed from the XOOPS site from the main page of my site, and it seems that my site is know loading a lot quicker. According to my page loading script, load requests are being completed about 0.2 seconds quicker than they were before I made that changes. And that's now with 90 queries whereas before it was 77. Aside from that, it just feels noticeably quicker as well.

My server is far from being any kind of speed demon, but I just find it very interesting that by just disabling the headlines module I gained such a performance increase.

I was actually thinking more of a continously counting clock, but this is a good start. Thanks MithyT2 !
