Hi All,
I'm looking to be able to control permissions for the downloads section of my site so I can differentiate which downloads are available for anonymous users and registered users.
I know I can run multiple mydownload modules, but this still only gives me permission controls on the entire module, and increases administrative overhead.
There is a module called wmpdownload which give per catergory, per sub category and per file permissions which is about as granular as you'll ever need (perhaps with exception of having a read permission as well such as in rifraf's DMS).
To my knowledge there is currently no english version of the wmpdownloads module, which I'm currently in the process of correcting and am about 60% of the way through. My question is, is it possible to include these permission features into the MyDownloads module so that it is part of the XOOPS core?
! Finally some decent usage of XOOPS great group permission feature. Are these changes aimed for a 2.1.0 release? I'm very eager to know inparticular about the permissions for the downloads module as I'm currently looking at transfering all my downloads (major work) to the wmpdownloads module so I can make use of its permissions feature. If permissions are going to be built into the next major release of XOOPS (i.e 2.1.0) then I'll just wait for it as it'll save me a lot of work, as well as ensuring I'm not straying from the XOOPS core too much.
