Re: Newbb2, i can not upload stuff in forum......

Go to the admin of newbb, on the admin index page you will see two directory listings and whether they are available or not. If not click "create".

After reading a very helpful tutorial regarding installing WAMP onto my PC (XP Pro) I now have all 3 up and running...

when browsing to http://localhost I receive the...

"If you can see this, it means that the installation of the Apache web server software on this system was successful. You may now add content to this directory and replace this page."

So I then uploaded the contents of the HTML folder into the Apache folder.. but I dont get the XOOPS genie... anyone know where I am suppose to put these files and folders?

thanks

OK, I got confused about the modules in the repository. There's a News 1.44 and a News2 module and I thought that they were different. Turns out that this was fixed in the 1.44 version.

The fatal error thing doesn't come up anymore, but the permissions thing is still occuring.

Hi,
i have newbb on my new XOOPS site, i have added to my forum all kind of extensions to be uploaded.
So i go to uplad an image in a topic and it says:

Faild opening directory: hsphere/local/home/myaccount/mysite/hmtl/uploads/newbb

Faild openinf direcory with write permissions:
hsphere/local/home/myaccount/mysite/hmtl/uploads/newbb

So i went to that direcory and there was no newbb file.
So what sholud i do, or what is the problem?????

Finally at least I can get into the admin page.
-I go to the /recovery.php , switch back my theme to default.
-clear all temp files within cache folder
-call the /modules/system/admin.php ... and it's not a blank page anymore...

still have to tried to used normal login from the toppage.

err, i reply my own posting... this is getting to look like a blog eh? #OOPS#....

Hey Solo,

That's cool - I'll wait to hear from your 'investigations' as I've only got a production site to test on so it's not something I can really dig into!
