.
Are we talking about XOOPS 2.xxxx here?

If so there is only one login. No difference between admin and user login window. So if it tells you 'login incorrect' it means that either your database entry for the admin is corrupted or that you indeed got the wrong password.

What happens when you click on 'lost password' and have it mailed to you? Is it really the one you are trying to use?

Have you railed out the usual suspects like CapsLock, NumLock, leading or trailing spaces ...?
(have to ask because i work in it support and you wouldn´t believe how many case we have stuff like this )

Sorry i am not sure i understand what you are saying correctly.

You say:
Your website is setup that if a user registers he should get an email with a confirmation link right? But the user never gets the mail.

You are looking for a hack to do what? To deactivate this and have the user automaticly be confirmed when he registers?
If so you would just go into Admin --> Preferences -> User Settings --> 'Select activation type of newly registered users' and set this one to "Activate automaticly'. No hack needed to do that!

Also you should check Preferences Main »» Mail Setup
For me in example it works fine with 'php mail()' but you might consider another way depending on your provider.

If i missunderstand please rephrase your problem description.

Actually if i´m not very mistaken there is only one update from 2.0.5.x to 2.0.6.
So you don´t have to worry about that question.

Anyway:
I would like to remind you of making a backup (files + database) before updating your site. When something goes wrong (shouldn´t - but you never know) it always hits the people that didn´t do a backup.

You say you can login as admin?

Activate PHP Debugging and see what comes up when you log in as a user.

This just took me 3 minutes to find too

When you are in the admin section look at the bottomline:

Should read something like: Powered by XOOPS 2.x.x © 2001-2003 The XOOPS Project

I would be very interested in a great document management system like this as well...

I can't program it but I can sure break it for you and give you excruciating bug lists. :)

And which module is jan's? Linkage?

document management? Weren´t they talking about file management? *looking confused*
Anyway did you try the actual beta of wf-section from Catzwolf?

If not have a look here

Although it should not be used on production websites and
a new beta will be released in the next days (hopefully).

Hi,

Use the patch 2.0.4 --> 2.0.5

and after that 2.0.5 --> 2.0.6

But please:
remember to make a backup of your existent files
and of your database before updating.
(Just in case ...)

Check here:
http://wiki.xoops.org/wakka.php?wakka=TroubleshootingBlankPage

and do a search for 'blank'. There are about 2 threads per day at the moment about blank pages. You will find several suggestions what you can try.

Please try that for a start.

(hopefully you made a backup anyway before updating? Just in case ...)
