www.xoops-tips.com has a good 'how to' on making custom links in blocks that integrate into xoops.

As for the polls....I fall into the category of members/users that feels that this module leaves MUCH to be desired, so much so, that I use non-xoops php or java polls for my clients in custom blocks. There are many avaiable with 'repeat vote' ability...and some that will even limit the specific number of votes allowed based on IP of voter.

More importantly, they show the description of the poll so that the users know what the heck they are being polled about!

Just search for 'PHP Poll' on google to get started

127.0.0.1 will not leave your NIC...it's a dead end return loop for the www root, so if that is the case, there is something else in your web server that is not set-up correctly, or the dns info has not propogated yet to resolve your external ip to the internal one.

look through this page to be sure everything is set-up and working correctly for PHP and IIS

Hopefully things are progressing?

okay...here's another possible solution...

look at this link for the member photo 'hack'.

Once you have that installed, you could go through all of the templates for the forums and what not and add the smarty call for the member photo to the location where the avatar smarty call is. This would then replace all occurances of the avatar with the users photo, and the user can submit the photo when they register.

I realize that this is not exactly what you were looking for, but it's closer than the first suggestion and would only require messing around with the backend/database once, and things would be good going forward.

Good luck with it all...and don't forget to share whatever your final solution is with the rest of us Might be that others are looking for the same thing but just haven't asked.

why would anyone use another third party add-on to create playlist html files when winamp will do it for you anyway!?

I'm going to see if I can find someone that can alter that dynamic iframe script to calculate page length from other domains....

Thanks again Angel!

modules are in the module repository of this site....
however, if you ar enew to XOOPS and still 'experimenting' with modules etc, I'd install 2.0.13.1 there are more modules for it, and more modules with it.

The newest version of XOOPS and future versions will not contain modules...just the core. Making a long story short, this will ensure that the modules will work better in the long run, as the developers will be able to ensure that the core functionality of XOOPS is correct, which in turn will make it easier to troubleshoot and code the modules for it.

see the little rss button at the bottom of the forum page here?

when you click that link it opens a browser window with a bunch of gobbeldy gook knows as XML....anyway, simply copy the link from the address bar and paste it inot the area asking for the rss feed link in the module.

I don't use brandycoke's module, but I do use xhld0....

take a look at the news on the home page here:

www.teamphast.com

If you still can't get it to work, let us know what problems you are having, as there are many reasons for something not to work, and no one wants to send you on a wild goose chase!

well...mine let me create a category...but none of the blocks that came with it worked....also the only way to upload a game was through the front page of the module, it did not recognize the games if you added them via ftp

If I remember, the only thing that really worked in the admin section was creating a category....nothing else really worked.

xcGallery 'may' be causing some problems....look and see if xcGallery and myAlbum can be run at the same time (somewhere in the forums), because the flashgames module is a hack of the myalbum module that allows flash embeding in the page, and has removed all of the picture functionality from view...but not from the database....
(iiick!)

Hey! There's an idea! adding flash inclusion to the XOOPS core so that it will automatically display the flash items, like it currently does with images....then we could make a game forum or something and do it that way!

I got it to work in 2.0.13.1 sort of....

try uninstalling it and re-uploading and installing it.

Could have been an ftp geek or something....

probably....
here's the difference I get:
Firefox
Resized Image

IE 6
Resized Image

In firefox I at least get a scroll bar for the frame that has not dynamically expanded...in IE it just blocks it off so that it doesn't display.

here's what your page looks like;
Resized Image
