The other thing it could be peter, is the module has to have access for anonymous use. You can turn on and off categories that can be access as well as torrents that can be access anonymously.. But the module itself needs to be anonymous otherwise you will get that error.

Goto Administration -> system admin -> groups -> anonymous -> Module Access Rights

And turn on access for x-torrent within the module groups there.. This is because when you access it through a HTML Browser, the website will probably display something like

Sorry you don't have permission to view this area. It is doing this also when the torrent software is accessing /modules/x-torrent/announce.php it will unless you turn on anonymous access for the module so the torrent software can page via HTTP/HTML..

Hmm not sure peter, it all worked in my test of the latest version.. Perhaps you should check the checksum of the file to make sure you have the latest version, there was a couple of quick patches in version releases of it..

This was with a closed tracker and an open tracker with utorrent, between here and the UK.

The checksums are in X-Torrent Wiki Article.

You can use hashcalc to check them if your on a windows platform

Did you remember to download the torrent again with the passkey and merge it with your orginal mount. This is if you are using a closed tracker.

Also peter it sounds like you didn't do an update after copy the files over the top, goto admin -> system admin -> modules and click on the first orange icon in the module item this will update the module.

There is a setting where you can set the location of the tracker of the module. Without this you will get this error. There is a setting in this module that wasn't in the first RC0 that was released.. You will need to run this and the URL should appear correctly..

Yeah I noticed that about the passkey stuff, what you have to do is after uploading the torrent you need to download it again and merge it with the existing file in your utorrent or bittorrent etc.. you can reuse a passkey if you want when mounting them in the future but I would advise against this as a passkey is like a username.

I may make a modification that you have to put a something like announce.php?uname=LordPeter to pass the first intial passkey test.

Currently with a closed tracker you need to do this to mount it on the service, as it needs a passkey to work. Also currently there is a minor bug that if you do not specify a tracker to begin with the torrent will be corrupt.

I will have a go at fixing that but for the moment, you will have to mount and merge. Partly this is because if you use a torrent that is from a remote TDL, it will mount it in your tracker as well as allowing them to use the pre-existing one.

This is how p2p works, otherwise files have no ability to spawn onto your network. This is in the condition of putting an URL in rather than uploading a file.

Have you ever wondered why when you go to an Australian website, you see heaps of the slang in the forums, but the site it's self is ridged and clinical americanized english.

Well now here is a language pack in aussie, it may take a few more changes when I borrow the Dinkum Dictionary off my grandfather, but for the moment, this is it, with plenty of Cheers Mate, and Struths. It is a pack to enjoy.

Complete Aussie language pack for your xoops, either install in to the normal English directory or translate all the other modules to an Aussie directory.

With all the non offensive slang you need! This is for XOOPS 2.0.18.1RC and some earlier versions.

Install into your /ROOTPATH/LANGUAGES/ path and either rename to 'english' or leave in aussie.

Hey Peekey,

How are you man? Yeah you should find wf-Downloads perfectly safe to use, I used it for X-Torrent, which is the only torrent server for xoops.

The reason the records where orphaned is when the database was restored it had deleted the comments from the comment database as well then the category was deleted.

Xoops does a bit of cleaning for you when you remove stuff.

The module tables where restored but the comment table was not... As there where new records and comments from other parts of the site in it.

That will happen peter, but not in this version, you will have to set for open tracker maybe you shouldn't turn on the option 'closed tracker' for the moment, I have to modify the download page so it edits the tracker file.. for the passkey.. for the moment if you notice that option is Not Implemented...

it is 9:16pm, I have already put the tables in it, maybe tomorrow or next week

I might have some time to implement it through the week.

Well guys but I am sorry there will be no upgrade between these two there is tooo many changes.

The announce completely works this has a full fledged tracker that I had a friend test from a remote location..

I have not implemented the pass key into it yet I will bring that out a little later, but this will be the structure for a few version yet!!

x-Torrents is a comprehensives module for XOOPS that allows for uploading and submission of external torrents. Including the ability to publish news about torrents and also have forum associations.

It has an announce built into it. It is located athttp://www.yoursite.com/modules/xtorrent/announce.php

I can get it registering with u-torrent and bit torrent, but I need someone to test the download, I can seem to get the tracker to register a download...

Otherwise try existentialism one of these torrents form the service on another computer!!
