AMS Module
I start here, you have some article, so install a block on the homepage from this module to show ex. the last articles. So you have content. So can choose as center block (in the middle) as one block from left to right or you can choose center left or center right block with 50percent of a center block, so you can make two block in one line, one left and one right. A lot of modules work on that way, that you can install a block to show content on every page on your website.

Images
You have the choice, choose the XOOPS internal image manager, here you can create many folders and give rights to the folders which group have access. There exist some picture moduls, ex. eXtGallery, TadGallery etc. here you have some more options with description and and and ...

YouTube Videos or Videos
The DHMTL Editor give you the option to link a YouTube Video, but search on this portal, you will find some video modules. With a little experience you can use another modules (ex. trabis dummy module) and in connection with a flash player (ex. JW Player) you can use your own style and ressource, all you need is now a download module, where user can upload video files to link in a website. Learning by Doing i will say...

Some questions in front of xoops 2.5

Hi friends

I have some question (little problems and feature request), at the moment to the version 2.4.4 but i thinks also for XOOPS 2.5.

After a new installation, sometimes the templates will not load correctly in the admin sector. I dont know what happend, as an example i reload a module or i change settings in a module and i save the changes, the template with the ajax indicator.gif is not show. First i think the the ftp upload do not upload all files, so i reload the default theme again, but i see the little problem again, when i change the theme. Did anyone have the same problem, is it a session problem...?

xxx

Second question goes to the wysiwyg editors cke and tiny_mce. Some of you know, if users choose one of this editor, the enter mode problem is already exist. You press the enter button on your keyboard it makes not a single linebreak, it makes a double linebreak. I know the solution to press shift+enter - i know that, but not all users know that. I try to configure the js file and modify the force_p_newline : p to false and complete it with force_br_newline : br but this will not solve my problem. I modify the content.css with margin and padding 0 - it will help that i cannot see the double linebreak in the editor, but if i save - i have and see the white space.

I see you config the force_p_newline in the settings.php to true, i try to config to false, but i have no luck!

Did you see any chance to config that the enter mode makes only one linebreak? Is there a way that the XOOPS image manager works in the wysiwyg editors?

I ask not for myself, but we have a lot of users with no experience and they stand in front of problem to implement a picture ex. in the tiny_mce. On the other hand i have the problem to correct their topics to delete the white space.

Thanks for any answer!
Andy

Hi

If i read your post, the message say that the path where XOOPS is/was installed change. I believe your hoster copy the files and folders outside the public folder, thats all. All what you need is the new path and not new pass(word) i think.

Hi friends

We solve it, wrong settings and a little bug, we must investigate some more details and contact the developer. So - no problems in xoops!

Hello friends

I give a reply to my post, i found something out. First, existing bbcode img or url tags works, if you edit an article, the bbcode shows the tags and it will not work. The html tags works, the one user i see first that it did not work, use img scr and not img src - but i see in one version there was a bug in point of that, its fixed now in newer version, i see an entry in tracker on sourceforge.

xoops 2.4.3 and 2.4.4
php 5.2.x

Hi friends

Sorry i must reopen this thread, but it seems it works not in all modules. I try it in the news module, no problem. I try it in the alfreds dh-info module, here we have still the problem. Some user told me in the dh-info modules a html image like < img scr ... will also not work. We have the problems in XOOPS 2.4.3 and 2.4.4. I reload the image.php and two other files in the folders include und class but i would not solve the problem.

Any suggestion?

What he mean, you should take the full package not only the upgrade package, overwrite all your files (exlude mainfile.php) and make an upgrade with the full package. Take care, make first a backup of all files and database, check the folder and files you must chmod (example file include/license.php, exapample the folder outside the root xoopsdata(caches and configs with subfolders) and follow now the upgrade instructions.

Someone remember Xoops Explorer (xplorer) Module?

Hi friends

See herehttp://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/?xplorer

We use an old module "xplorer" for a project. You can download, upload, delete or edit files, a nice module. The problem is (not for me) there is only a plain text editor you can edit files. Now we have some user they need the default XOOPS editor for editing files. Can anyone take a look and tell me is it possible to integrate the default editor?

I can (more or less) implement as an example and over a workarround the standalone tiny_mce, but i would have the XOOPS default editor. Any helpfull informations are welcome my friends.

Thanks in advance
Andy

IMHO no, but interesting question. I think you must set the option manually. The problem is, if you change something in one group, you have to clone and clone and clone, i mean in this case after the new group exist, its easier to set the options manually.
