I checked out all the docs. In the user guide
http://www.bluemooninc.biz/~xoops2/modules/pukiwiki/?PB_Guide

They have a screen shot and I do not have ANY of the menus shown. I therefore can not follow the instructions. I think something is serisouly wrong.

I followed the install instrcutions. I have not mande ANY changes to the pop.ini.php file. GD is loaded and running in my PHP. I have no clue what to do next except try another blog module???

XOOPS Version: 2.0.13.1
Module Name/Version: PopnupBLOG v. 2.21
PHP Version: 4.3.11
MySQL Version: 4.1
Web Server: IIS6
Operating System: Windows 2003 Server SP1
Theme you are using: Default
Custom template: NO

PHP Debug Messages:

1. Just on PopnupBLOG page: Notice [PHP]: Undefined offset: 1 in file C:\...\modules\popnupblog\PopnupBlogUtils.php line 48

2. All Pages: Notice [PHP]: Undefined variable: numrows in file C:\...\modules\xoopspartners\blocks\partners.php line 86

I am a blogosphere newbie and could use some assistance with this blog module I recently installed in XOOPS

PopnupBLOG appears to have installed just fine (I think, no errors) but I can not seem to add blog users nor figure out how to post an entry into a blog.

I can create categories just fine. Some of the configuration items in the preferences are not clear what is each parameter is for and what is the correct information to enter in them. I also sort of expected that there would be some kind of blog entry interface like a form or something.

My intention is to have two or three bloggers posting in several categories where registered members can comment on the blog entries. I can not seem to find any ‘HOW TO’ documentation on this module or description on how it is supposed to work. I therefore do not know if I have it configured correctly or not of if I am just being dense and ignorance about how to use this module.

It would sure be nice to just be able to just put html URL code in the title fields for the News and Sections modules.

Hi McDonald,

I am looking to do something diffrent than what you have posted. I noticed that in your screen shot you have a keyword field in your mylinks submit form. I would like to add that the lates version of XOOPS Ihve installed (my first time using XOOPS) so my search function works more effectivly. I do not want to disply keywords in the links list to site visitors however, I just want the search function to search that field as well as the others.

Can you provide any direction or instructions on how to do this? I am not a PHP programmer but I can edit code alright. I have MyPhpAdmin that I am learning to use it as well for adding a new field to a table.

Thanks so much - Technobia

Not sure what happended but I tried to let XOOPS create the database as suggested above, I got an internal error in the browser and the install page would not load.

So, I copied all the files over the first set and tried again, install loaded. Then I used the same login & database I originally created and XOOPS installed easily.

I suspect some of the install files were perhaps corrupted. Anyway I am working now!

Thanks for the help

Hey Rabideau & Biteronboard

I pre-created the database via the MySQL Command line and I gave the user the following “Schema Privileges” to the database: Select, Insert, Update, Delete, Create, Alter, Index, Drop.

Never thought to try to let XOOPS create the database. I will give that a try and get back with results.

Thanks - Technobia.

ENVIRONMENT:
XOOP 2.0.13.1 / Windows 2003 Server / IIS 6.0 / PHP 4.3.11 / MySQL 4.3
I am the root admin for the entire server.

ISSUE: - Installation Error:
Could not connect to the database server.
Please check the database server and its configuration.

NOTES:
I have successfully created the database and was able to login to the MySQL Administrator using the newly created user and password. I have created several MySQL databases and users for number of other php/MySQL applications so I feel confident this was done correctly. I also tried using the known good ‘root’ user just as a test but the install still reported the above error.

File permissions indicate:
Directory uploads/ is writable.
Directory cache/ is writable.
Directory templates_c/ is writable.
File mainfile.php is writable.

As a test I also gave FULL CONTROLL to the wwwRoot folder for the Internet Guest User account, this did not help either.

I have other PHP/MySQL applications running on the same server so I know PHP & MySQL installations are working properly.

QUESTION:
What else might be going one here that would prohibit the install from connecting to the database?

Thanks,
Technobia
