Hi Conas,

Are you getting any error on Debug mode or in Apache log?

I upgraded on of my site from xoops 2.3.3b to 2.4.4 via cpannel and it was an automated upgrade by my hosting company(goDaddy). so it may be worth checking with your hosting company if they can upgrade for you.

You should test all your module on the new version on a test environment first before you upgrade your production host.

What do you mean by "redirected back to main site".
Do you mean home page?

Most likely you are not passing the right parameter on the comment_new.php

if you just want to get rid of your xoops directory from URL, you should be able to change on your hosting.

for example your root should point to

http://dock1039.com/xoops1.

I am using Godaddy and they gave me an option to host multiple sites(domain) on the same server.

hope this helps

Hi Brian,

Welcome to xoops.

As others have mentioned here, you need to slow down a bit. Before you try the live site, you can install the XOOP on XAMP server on your local machine. Get all the module & theme and make them work on your local machine and then FTP it to your host. first try to work with a simple theme and then change your theme.

I am using Godaddy as well and can tell you that they are one of the best ( from a hosting point of view). I have my hobby site (www.aquariumhomecare.com) running on Xoops v2.3.1 for more than 18 months with no problem.

I would recommend you try all your modules on the latest stable version of Xoops v2.4.4.

I can understand your frustration however we need to know few basics to do anything.

I am with Xoops from 2 year and I know I have lot to learn on Xoops. And its continuously evolving and getting better.

I can certainly help you run the basic site.

Good Luck

Deepak

Hi bumciach,

Are you using dms on your intranet? If yes, can I get a copy of the module. I am trying make dms v1.91 work on xoops 2.4.4.

So may be a working module will help me to debug some of the issues.

Deepak
