Folks,

Can you please recommend a good document management module that works with XOOPS 2.3.3? I installed 'Document Management System 1.91' which has some bugs in it and not working well with the latest version of XOOPS.

Thanks!

Abu

I'm on PHP5 and some of the issues I have seen are:

1) Users are not able to see documents that they have been given permission to view.

3) The group permission update is not working.

3) There are errors like this in several areas of the module:

Notice: Undefined variable: disp_start in file /modules/dms/inc_main_ui_2.php line 933

That's strange. I've been playing around with it a bit on XOOPS 2.3.3 with PHP 5.2.6 and I've seen none of the problems you describe.

Can you try to be a bit more specific about one of the problems so I can try to replicate it?

@Mazarin, this was handled here.

Dealt with or not, while I do get that notice in debug mode, I have not yet seen any real effect of it. It works perfectly fine to upload documents as admin and share to the registered users group.

I'm really interested in this because I'm about to start a project that will rely heavily on document management, so if these bugs are for real (they may very well be, but that remains to be proven) and there is no other alternative to DMS, I may very well be forced to throw XOOPS out for that one and I certainly wouldn't like that

Probably because you didn't have enough documents to need page navigation (where I assume the corrected code serves for).

Hmmm, that may be. I gave up trying to force a page break after 22 docs uploaded

Now, don't get me wrong on this one. I'm not questioning anyone. I just want to fully establish if there are any bugs and if so, how severe they are and if they can be fixed.

@Abu: Can you please provide some more examples of bugs?

Hi Mazarin,

Here are two specific problem I found -

1) In 'Permissions Group Management Editor': Any modification to permissions is not being saved. I am also not able to delete any 'Permission Group' that I created.

2) I uploaded a document as the admin and gave the registered users group view permission to this document (through DMS administration). When I log back in as a registered user and navigate to this module's main page, I don't see this document listed (just show's item: empty).

You had mentioned that you have uploaded bunch of documents, are your intended users able to see them? If so can you give the steps you took, maybe I'm doing something wrong here. Thanks.
