Yup did that,

Everything seems to work ok,
Can't see anything obviously going wrong its just with the debugging turned on I get the warning.

Shall I ignore and forget?

With debugging on I occasionally get the following error,

Warning [Xoops]: Smarty error: unable to read template resource: "db:news2_item.html" in file class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 1042

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix it?

Cheers

Thanks Brash, found the issue now,
typical stuggle all day, post up the issue and then find it ten minutes later.

Have another issue though with the news module,

I get this warning,

Warning [Xoops]: Smarty error: unable to read template resource: "db:news2_item.html" in file class/smarty/Smarty.class.php line 1042

Don't know where to start on this one!

Yes did that -
It had kittens, dozens of lines of my screw ups!
Too scared to use it before!
A clone I did of news was badly wrong.
I've also cloned FAQ module 7 times and I found a problem with the third one in modinfo.php

just did a search on faq and found,
MI_XOOPSfaq3_NAME

Changed it to
MI_XOOPSFAQ3_NAME

and it all now works!

I'm a programmer now

I'll crawl back under my rock now,
Cheers

I had a go at cloning the faq module,

All seems to work other than this notice,

Use of undefined constant _MI_XOOPSFAQ3_NAME - assumed '_MI_XOOPSFAQ3_NAME'

Just give me a quick prod in the right direction.

Cheers

New installation of XOOPS about two weeks ago,
Just about to go live.
All going well until I clicked on Notification in the user menu and I get a blank page, ooops.

Checked to see if notifications.php was ok and it appears ok
I get notification options below the news page and it seems to save ok.

Any clues?

Scenario,

We have 200 leaflet and booklet titles covering all aspects of social welfare.

These are to be made available for download (simple enough)

They should also be made available for people to order in various other formats such as brail, video, large print etc.

They are all free of charge, (thats why our local taxes are so high in the UK!)

Our initial solution was OS Commerce with essentially the finance elements taken out but the ordering system left intact. This has worked fine but the site is not as user friendly as we would like.

We Love Xoops and so we've been trying to work out a way of doing the above based on a XOOPS site.

The XOOPS /os commerce project seems to have stalled and to be honest we dont need that level of complexity anyway.

Any ideas?

How big a job is it to clone a module like FAQ?

Is it just a question of copying the faq module creating a new directory called say FAQ2 and then changing the name in all the referance urls within the php, html and sql files from xoopsfaq_ to xoopsfaq2_ for example?

or am I being a little optimistic?

I'm working on a site for a local organisation who have a number of Procedures and processes that they would like to make available online for easy referance.

The structure of the FAQ module lends itself nicely to a set of procedures so I adapted the FAQ mod to suit.

However due to the success of this idea I've just been presented with a set of seperate processes and a set of FAQ's that they would like included in the same format.

If added to the first FAQ module the menu list would end up being huge so I really need two or three different menus.

Has anybody managed to get two or more FAQ modules to work?
Is there a better way?

Cheers
Mike
