If you backuped your old site and restored that into the new database then the only thing you have to do is change the mainfile.php to reflect the new path and new database name/user.

What exactly doesn't work, could you describe this?

As far as I know the XOOPS version doesn't have multiple blogs, just multiple users.
Wordpress mu has separated users AND blogs.
Or did I miss something?

Great idea skenow.
Some remarks : The CONTENT (files) of the folder /htdocs must be uploaded to the root (www/ or htdocs/) of your site.

The backup module did not work on some sites I had, for these I use a stand alone utility, mysqldumper that you can find here :http://www.mysqldumper.de/en/

The editor package is for the modules of phppp, doesn't work on all other modules.

Sorry can't help you on this one, I may have a similar problem.
I terminated one article, so detached it from a category, but now it's gone, can't find it anymore, lol.
And I noted that my loginname is spread all over the site by the article module, I removed that.

I removed the forum_access line and did the settings for access of the boards afterwards by hand in the smf forum.

@Lava_ , that's why I wrote :"preview does not work".
98% of my users/visitors uses IE, so when something does not work in IE, it's of no use for my sites.

I have no solution for you, maybe you can remove the preview button (if there is no solution), make the width of the editor screen bigger, then you don't need a preview.

As far as I know 'preview' doesn't work with koivi, if you hit preview then your post is gone.
