Sorry, i tried the FAQ and couldn't find something that would help me out with that, including the debug mode. I tried to be as thorough with the problem as I could.

Nevermind, and sorry I wasted your time with the long post. A fresh install of XOOPS seemed to do the job, just wanted to get it fixed without building my site all over again.

Hi, this is the first time I run into this problem, and actually I have built 3 sites with pretty much the same configuration for everything

My XOOPS is the latest stable release, that means right before XOOPS 2.2, and it's running in 3 websites : www.gplegacy.com/antartida, www.nagpl.com/community, www.gbgpl.com/community.

The problem is in www.gplegacy.com which happens to be my main website :(

I got XCgal working in the two mentioned sites, but when I tried to install it in www.gplegacy.com I ran into a blank page when installing the module. The module still shows up if I click on refresh, as if it had been installed, but when I go to its module administration options (XCgal) it goes blank as well... Now I am running into that problem while installing or deactivating forums.

I have tried it all, from deactivating the module, then uninstalling, then deleting the folder via FTP, downloading a fresh install of XCgal, trying to upload it again and repeat the steps, and run into the same problem. I tried even copying the module from the sites where it is running ok, then trying to install that forum into my main site. Same thing...

My main problem is that there are some modules I cannot reach because of the same blank page problem. :( I checked the preferences of Xoops, they're the same for the 3 sites, write permissions in ftp, the same...

I really need urgent help because we're going public very soon with the website launch and we do need the modules and especially the gallery.

Any help will be appreciated, either through here or you can find me too at webmaster@gplegacy.com Any help will be appreciated

Sergio

Thanks for the info I will sure use this for now, but the main problem is the buttons are the most important deal... and it seems those aren't translated, if they are 2 different XOOPS versions, one with english language, and another one in spanish language, is it possible to "switch sites" to move from one XOOPS install to the other?

Hi, I'm in a bit of a problem, we started an online community which will have different news and probably different content in the modules, and to be divided in English and Spanish...

My question is if I can install 2 XOOPS in my server's route, for instance xoops1 and xoops2 but using the same database so the users can log in automatically to either version of the web-site while maintaining their different content in each.

Please help me out, I thought of making a fresh install in that "xoops2" directory and setting the Table databases to some other name, but of course, then the users wouldn't be recognized to log in automatically to both websites.

The other option might be by setting topics in the news for english and spanish, but then the core wouldn't be translated :(

Please help me out a bit. Couldn't find something similar in the threads and esxoops.com hasn't replied either.

My website is at www.gplegacy.com

Thanks

Sergio

Hi, everything was working great on my website (www.marciacristina.com), a lot of activity in the forums, etc... for almost 3 months now. I have not upgraded to XOOPS 2.0.7 for fear of doing something wrong.

Suddenly, I come in, and in the first page where the recent topics and most active topics blocks appear, everything is ok, except for the last column (last comment) which shows up blank.

When i try to get into the forums after receiving a couple of complaints from visitors for the errors, I just get a blank page with the word Error on the top left.

I entered PHPMyadmin in my server to find everything on the XOOPS table is working perfectly, except for "xoops_bb_posts", I include two pictures below. it shows "In Use" instead of "MyIsam" and no more information, and when I click properties, I get the second image I share with you.

Resized Image
heres when I click on properties

There's a lot of activity on the forums, I couldn't afford to lose it :( please help me out.

My best wishes and hope to hear from you

Hi, I was trying to locate some answers as to where could i find a way to change some of the names displayed in the Main Menu block, especially since I Run a site in spanish and in the spanish XOOPS sites they haven't been able to provide an answer for me.

If it's in modules, what file is usually needed to modify the name in the main menu block? or where can i look so I can change it?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Best wishes

Muchas gracias Sergio.

And don't worry about bad English, I was actually becoming a passive observer of this thread and it was extremely worrisome to see both Chapis and Boobtoob's reaction to the thread. I really appreciate to see that one of the developers at least is taking the matter seriously.

When attitude's the game, better look for a new game console, I would like to know how many of those who have posted a thread in here as considering this a problem have considered moving to other CMS systems not because we do not like the way XOOPS works, but because the developers and web-masters were using phrases that have an offensive (and rather defensive) tone like "learn how to use your firewalls" and "xoops is run in hundreds of places yatta yatta" when the internet is about MILLIONS of users! It sounded so boisterous!

If someone considers this is an issue, you should be grateful, as developers, to see that all XOOPS loyal users, who are trying to recommend XOOPS are much as possible, are posting the problem for it to be taken into account instead of turning to any other CMS system! It's not only the developers who are working and contributing to Xoops, but we as users should be acknowledged as well, especially when we are posting any issues that might arise, I believe that's an important guide in the development of ANY system.

I will not be surprised to see there's no reply by Chapis or Boobtoob, or that the next reply is also in a defensive-offensive "taken-personal-agression-boo-hoo-hoo" tone. I would instead be GLADLY surprised to see if they post any kind of "Our Oops, we're looking into it."

Developers are doing a great job, don't let attitude get in the way!

Again, thanks w4z004, that's the kind of attitude that moves any stone forward.
