I love what you did with the ebay auctions page. I sometimes sell on ebay and would love to know how you set that up!

I just made a custom module with html content as described here in FAQ.

https://xoops.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=280

Then inserted a html table with an iframe containing the url of my ebay home page. .. i.e

<iframe SRC="http://cgi3.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewUserPage&userid=thai_expat" width="105%" height="2500"
framespacing=0 frameborder=no border=0 scrolling=no</iframe>

Plus a few other cells containing the google ad etc.

You could also just use a stand alone php page with the XOOPS header and footer wrapped around the html (also in FAQ)

The only problem is after the iframe has finished loading .. everything else stops .. that is .. the footer does'nt load.

The header and left column does because they load before the iframe.

I've been meaning to post a query about that .. but I have'nt worried about missing the footer on just one page.

No Permission in sub folder of custom module

Hi all
I have a couple of custom modules with plain old html content.
Each module has subdirectories.

e,g .. "Maps Module" .. modules/maps/bangkok

I can access all files in "/maps" as this appears in Groups in admin and has been checked.

However .. when I try to access "modules/maps/bangkok/index.php"

I get a message saying "You dont have permission to access this area."

The bangkok subfolder does not appear in the Groups permissions area in admin in order for me to apply permissions.

Apart from moving the whole module "Maps" out of the module folder to the root directory and treating it as a normal directory .. what can I do?

Is there some other way to apply permissions to sub folders in Modules?

Using XOOPS 2.2 final

Thanx

My God! If people DO actually pay for that .. then its further proof that there are a lot of people with more money than sense.

If getting a new empty forum kicked off is a problem .. just register a few fake members and make a few fake posts to start things off.

If however you suceed in fleecing cash from unimaginative twits .. then power to you. They deserve it.

Good Luck

You can change with your favourite program the template that you find in modules/system/tamplates/system_siteclosed.html and make it as you want.

After that don’t forget to make update from admin panel the system module.

God! .. even better .. did'nt think of that! .. I'm sticking my index2 file into "system_siteclosed.html" right now!

Not sure .. but I don't think you can display content if the site is turned off.

An alternative would be to make a file called index.html with html content stating that the sites down for maintainance. You could put a few highlights or whatever of the site in it.

This page will load instead of index.php. If users have other pages bookmarked and go to them .. they will still get the standard "Site Closed" page though.

When you're ready to go live again .. change the name of the index.html to index2.html or whatever (or just delete it if you don't want to use it again) and then index.php will take over again.

Heres a very simple one I made for my site

If thats really the case .. then the sentence needs a major overhaul as the "first post" is the "original post".. which you cant read till you have replied to it.

As for preventing people comminicating in a forum goes .. wow!
Thats what I thought a forum was for .. communicating. The best way to stop them communicating would be to remove the forum module! ... joking!

Mmmm .. I think I'll enable it and see what it really does.

Can someone explain the following Forum Option.

"Allow requiring reply to read a post

This feature forces readers to reply to the original posters post before being able to read the original"

Maybe I'm stupid .. or missing something here .. but how can you reply to a post BEFORE you have read it. (Apart from being clairvoyant)

Cant add block in CBB 2.2

Hi
Did a fresh install of XOOPS 2.2.3a Final and CBB 2.2.
The forrum is working Ok .. but I cant add any of the blocks .. i.e .. authors, latest topics etc.

When I choose a block from the drop down menu and click "add" .. I get an almost empty page .. with "Blocks Administration »» Add a new block" at the top .. thats it!

I noticed in the module downloads that it says I have to "reconfigure the cbb blocks" as XOOPS 2.2 handles them differently .. but there is no other explaination. How can I reconfigure trhe blocks if I cant add them first?

Any ideas?
Thanx
