JAVesey,

Why not just censor his domain name, then at least it wont be posted on XOOPS. Mamba knows how to set that up in no time.

Also what type of E-mail address is he using, could the domain ext be banned? or is it something like GMail?

Perhaps also trace his IP and report him to his ISP. (They may remove him as a customer)

Do a WHOIS on that domain name, and report it to his hosting providers and/or domain providers. (They may remove him as a customer)

They are responsible to offer assistance when it's spammers.

Perhaps this would make him stop.
Kind Regards.

eugenia, That sounds more complicated to me, but each to their own.

Do as Noo-b said, clear your template_c folder (but keep index.html).

CTRL + F5 do a hard refresh. (clears old browser site, to show the latest version).

You shouldn't need to clear cache as this not really theme related.
Kind Regards.

is there any trick on how to do this or is this exclusively for old, high ranking and popular
website like xoops.org

Yes and no.

It depends how often your website is spidered. XOOPS is fairly busy with new content all the time, so google tends to spider it more often. Sites with a better PR will normal just rank higher in results.

I have a PR1 website (and many others higher), I post on this, and within an hour or so it's on Google, the site is about 6 months old and uses WordPress. (All I do now to get listed is, make a link from one of my higher and regular indexed websites, Google bots tend to do the rest for me)

Google has some smart tools to help you make a success of your website, have a look here:

http://www.google.co.uk/services/

There will be a .com version also I assume, you'll then get a further link to something like this:

http://www.google.co.uk/webmasters/#utm_medium=et&utm_source=bizsols&utm_campaign=sitemaps

Then take note of what Tools they offer:

Quote:
Webmaster tools (including Sitemaps)

Statistics, diagnostics and management of Google's crawling and indexing of your website, including Sitemap submission and reporting.

Submit your content to Google

Learn about submitting content for Google properties such as Google Base and Google Book Search.

other sites offer different stuff too, personally I find if you get in Google and Submit to DMOZ, then a large chunk of your work is done, with regards to getting listed in other search engines, in fact I believe a lot of other search engines use DMOZ in some form or other too. There is still a lot more hard work ahead though, in getting higher listings for the keywords that matter to your website.

Take care
Tom

Whats up is your search button broken? Happens to me sometimes too.

The module can be downloaded from:http://xoops.taquino.net/

You'll find it in the download section on that website along with some other cool modules.

You may also wish to try uservisits which can track what users view on your website, rather than just general site stats.
Kind Regards.

They are the XOOPS editor images and not specific to CBB.

Anyway, they are in the images folder:

yourwebsite/images/

You can always find an image location by right clicking and selecting properties. or in FF you can also click view image.
Kind Regards.

Back on that whole MAC thing, I'm going to quote some text here, as to reasons why you apparently can't ban MACs.

Quote:
I saw your post on XOOPS about banning MAC addresses.

One of the things that is fun to study and very helpful in understanding networking is the OSI model.

This provides a very simple explanation of why a MAC address cannot be used to ban somebody on the internet

MAC addresses exist at Layer 2. Networks across the internet are connected at Layer 3 which is the network layer

You will only be able to see the mac address of the last hop router not the host itself and thus ban an entire network as opposed to an individual host

He's a smart chap, I'd like to thank my good friend Seth for this info.
Kind Regards.
