I saw your post on XOOPS about banning MAC addresses.

One of the things that is fun to study and very helpful in understanding networking is the OSI model.

This provides a very simple explanation of why a MAC address cannot be used to ban somebody on the internet

MAC addresses exist at Layer 2. Networks across the internet are connected at Layer 3 which is the network layer

You will only be able to see the mac address of the last hop router not the host itself and thus ban an entire network as opposed to an individual host

Why not just censor his domain name, then at least it wont be posted on XOOPS. Mamba knows how to set that up in no time.

Also what type of E-mail address is he using, could the domain ext be banned? or is it something like GMail?

Do a WHOIS on that domain name, and report it to his hosting providers and/or domain providers. (They may remove him as a customer)

They are responsible to offer assistance when it's spammers.
