Maybe we should shut them down, so we can avoid confusion.

It’s NOT maybe!
You have to, as soon as possible.
It only spreads redundancy, confusion and misinformation.

I don't know where to discuss reoganisation further, but I'm posting a big post in the XOOPS site redesign topic:
https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=314240#forumpost314240

Edit by Ghia: Link corrected.

Yeah, I hope I started a reorganization/management with my pointing out those things, if not planned or started yet anyway.

How many active ppl are currently involved in XOOPS planning/management and development?

Ok, quality assurance may also include project management quality.
Hopefully anybody here does organize what the XOOPS development community is doing.
If so, I couldn't find any info about that.

I’m confused.
I can’t commit to the sf svn directly,
the patch tracker has several months old items which are
open and have not a single comment,
the dev.xoops.org site tells me to apply after registering,
but registration is closed,
the wiki linked to from the top navigator is even dead (missing i),
the sf mailing list on sf is full of spam messages,
the task manager in sf has months and years old overdue
tasks which are not complete,
the sf wiki has a rather "interesting" layout,
the sf wiki tells me about joining the core dev team "coming
soon..." since 2007 as the history shows,

Is XOOPS still being developed?
How and where do you organize?

And why is there 3 wikis?
The one on dev.xoops.org,
the one on xoops.org,
and the one on sourceforge.
And even worse, it seems the wishlists for 2.3 and 3.0 are used in 2 places: on sf and here. And those don't have the same content. So no same DB in the backend or sth…

There's way too many places ppl can go for.

I get the impression there is absolutely no or way to few project development and organizing going on here.
If I just got the wrong impression, tell me.

I thought about contributing…
Core, modules and translating to German.
But I can’t even find a starting point.

I hope someone is still willing to answer me after such an evil posting :)
regards

Hi,
first of all, are the accounts of xoops.org and dev.xoops.org supposed to be independent?
I tried to use mine at dev.xoops.org but didn't work,
also registering didn't seem to work (didn't get my email (in the first hour I looked for it)). Maybe someone could take a look at it?

Also, onhttp://dev.xoops.org/modules/documentation/ the following things confuse me:

Dev Wiki (http://dev.xoops.org/modules/phpwiki) is a content empty page for me (just the XOOPS header, footer and phpwiki header (2 links + search box)).

XOOPS Core documentation (http://devteam.xoops.org/) is not available, Address Not Found

I want to integrate my script (user lvl etc) and later make it a module for xoops, that's why I need an api documentation or sth... But I can't seem to find it.

help appreciated
greetings

Does stay in v 2.0.17
but on the /modules/system/admin.php?fct=users page it has the left menu (but no footer or content)

no suggestions?

/e:
ok, the named page works now, the error was in line
$criteria->setLimit(200);
dunno if I set it to 200, but it only works up to 185

other problems still the same

I'm using XOOPS 2.0.16
and recent team module 2.08
PHP version 5.2.0

my
modules/system/admin.php?fct=users
is empty
If I comment out the line
<code>$user_select->addOptionArray($member_handler->getUserList($criteria));</code>
It works normal, but no users are listed in the top drop-down selection menu of course.

In my team module if I update one team with
modules/team/memberadmin.php
it works fine. If I update the ranks of another team it tells me "not logged in", sends me to the main page and I'm no longer logged in.

Any solutions?

It works on my local copy, but not on the linux webspace.
Apache also does not log any errors.

here's the fix

in the modules/news/include/storyform.inc.php
around line 80

i commented out the following code:

/*if ( $usercount < 300) {        // removed
        $sform->addElement(new XoopsFormSelectUser(_NW_AUTHOR,'author',true, $newsauthor),false);
    } else {
        $sform->addElement(new XoopsFormText(_NW_AUTHOR_ID, 'author', 10, 10, $newsauthor), false);
    }*/

You will no longer be able to change the owner of the news, that will be displayed as author, but that's no problem I think

oh my god...
Now that is strange.
Without changing anything (ah, I posted a comment to a news, but that shouldn't change anything) the old problem occurs again.
I uploaded the fixed file again but the modules/news/admin/index.php?op=newarticle pages source is empty.

Any help? Please?

using XOOPS 2.0.16 and news 1.44 here.

I don't know when but suddenly we were no longer able to edit news.
Yesterday posting news was no longer possible as well.

On my local host (windows) everything works fine (same database and files), but not on the linux system.

Today I tried to fix it myself, I found out that the error when posting an article on modules/news/admin/index.php?op=newarticle was in the last 10 artilcles. When I replaced
" . $eachstory -> uname() . "

with
poster

posting news now works again. Though it will not display the name of the poster of the last 10 articles now, of course.
Btw, it was a blank page before.

The edit news page on modules/news/submit.php?op=edit&storyid=ID is not a blank page but has the soure
<table width='100%' border='0' cellspacing='1' class='outer'><tr><td class="odd"><h4>Edit Article</h4>
.
I checked that as well and found out the error that causes this is somewhere in the modules\news\include\storyform.inc.php
If I remove this part of code, the page will display ok again (though the actual form for editing will be missing of course).

Any solutions?
