I'm using IPB, but i'm not in need of a pop-up windows, but I need just a way to include a simply plain text showing the existence of new private messages .... to show an animated gif in the header for example ....

any help? IPB uses his own PM system, so I cant use any of this good hacks.

thankz! this hack works perfectly, cos my images are 140 x 140 ... but I wonder ... what if I want it rectangular? I haven't tried anything yet ... but ...


fallenturtle: I had the same problem, some time ago, so it has nothing to do with this hack .... I think ... I don't remember how I solve it, but when I do, I tell you.

SmartPartner doesn't work anymore with x2.2.3 so I need a clone too!

or at least a module working with it

PD: how is possible calling a version "final" when every single popular module FAILS with it?

DANGER! by removing those lines you are open wide for a large variety of script atacks! i'm not an expert but this allow for any lammer to do a simple cross site attack to your site.

Those line prevent to run any script that are outside your XOOPS main directory.

I recommend to look for another solution less dangerous, like search for those include files ....

first of all, activate the debug mode in the main admin section (php debug first), then load the page that cause de error and look what module is causing it, i'm pretty sure that is an old module.

The just deactivate that module and see what happen

PD: when you update so many version at once, or one after another, is better to deactivate the modules, and then reactivate one by one, to actualice their templates and see if they are compatible with the new update.

there is no problem using themes from 2.0.13.x in a 2.2.3, except for a couple of smarty such as smarty avatar .... but is just a small thing, and if you weren't using it, don't worry
