I am working on the AMS portion of my new site.

I've got AMS working (few articles yet) but would like a little advice on doing the following:

a) I'd like to add instructions to use the drop-down box for categories (do I modify index.php in the module directory?)

b) Also, when choosing a parent category, it would be nice if its subcategories were options in the results. This way I can share articles and nested articles easily.

ck, just learning php, truly enjoying XOOPS (I've built geeklog and oscommerce sites before this)

Re: Article Management System (AMS) 2.41 seems corrupted

Okay, changed the directory name and now it works!! Thanks, could have read more carefully.

While we're discussing this module, just a simple question. When I'm at that part of my site , I wish there was a little hint above the dropdown menus as to their purposes. Can I modify the index.php file within the module folder to make this happen?

Thanks in advance!

Same thing here. Message across the top of the screen:

Module File for AMS Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!

note that I downloaded this and after it was unstuffed I had to strip away "folder" from the directory which now reads:

XOOPS2_mod_AMS_2.41

Thanks that was the trick! Some advice is just plain harder to search for as it involves fairly common terms so the search results are bloated.

Only some modules available until after log in

This probably basic but here goes:

I've got several modules active. When you go to my site without logging in, only a few show on the left. After logging in, I get all of the installed ones and a custom block shows up. Were is the setting to make them visible all the time?

After playing with this for a few hours, I think that I will make this the core of my work website (getting away from an html site).

I installed a practice site . The admin section, which takes two logins to get to, tells me that I'm running version 2.0.2 . From what I can see there is a more recent version. I haven't got much content so a reinstall wouldn't be too painful. Of course, this should be done manually since this is the best cpanel offers (at least at this host).

I've been messing around with the files for the phpkaox them and can't seem to get my blue color into the header and footer at all.

Any comments welcome. btw-nice support community!

Thanks for the quick response. I am familiar with permission setting. I was wondering which files need the 777 setting. I tried searching the archives but wasn't getting far.

New site

This is a practice site. I plan to make this the replacement for my work site. .

Installed via cpanel. Found my way into admin and put in the faq and forum modules. Was notified that install was successful but unable to write to file?? Can't seem to do much with modules.

My skills: have set up several Geeklog sites and an OSCommerce site so I'm not scared of tuning up php file etc

First XOOPS adventure and believe I'm gonna like it. Any pointers to modify the look to get close the work site would be appreciated.

Also, a little advice from other Mac users appreciated: when I use the Message buttons here to create links, image manager, etc, the dialog boxes are incomplete. I had to guess at the entries to make the link editor work. G3 iMac, 10.1, IE 5.1 . thanks in advance.
