Okay yesterday morning, I installed XOOPS Chat. The chat module works fine. But then I noticed that the content that I have in both the x-conteudo and tiny content modules do not show--Only the comments portion in those two blocks show.

I have checked the groups permissons, and the blocks visiblity, and they are correct.

When I disabled the XOOPS chat module and the content in both the x-conteudo and tiny content are now visible with no problems.

I have checked the forums and have not seen this problem.
Has anyone else had this conflict? If so, what did you do to correct this conflict?

In the meantime, I have disabled the XOOPS chat, as I put a lot of content into the other two modules and want them more than the chat.

I cant figure this one out, I have been racking my brain trying to figure it out on my own and I'm fried, so any HELP would greatly be appeciated
Thanks
Msreality

I originally posted this back in december in the beginners forum, but now Im a little more exerienced, and I really want this module on my site. I have installed this version
xoops2-mod_phpaddsnew_v13_08_w4z004
and have changed the config.inc.php
file as required -unchecked read only boxes
but I can not access the installer as instructed.
I get the following message:

Warning: main(config.inc.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/virtual/site405/fst/var/www/html/modules/phpads/index.php on line 18

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required 'config.inc.php' (include_path='.:/php/includes:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in /home/virtual/site405/fst/var/www/html/modules/phpads/index.php on line 18

In the index.php file line 18 is the config.inc.php file, which for some reason the permissions on the file are not letting me in.

Is there something else Im supposed to change?
any help would be creately appreciated.
I have also checked the site for help and did not see any posts with this particular problem.
thanks
Msreality

Holdemfish - no problem re: my comments. I want to thank you for yours regarding my site. Unfortuneately I dont know what direction the site is going in, but I do like your suggestion, and your right at least it will give people an idea of what's going on.

Thanks again for the "fresh" perspective.

Hey Monty --- Cool site for a club....I think the bright colors make it come alive and separate it from all the other club sites I've seen. If I lived there I'd checkout the club.

As for the group permissions, I do plan to change it as to allow anonymous more access but as of now since the site just started there's few members and the forum is not very active, so by limiting access I'm trying to induce more registration.

I am not sure if that works. I personally would just go away if i am not for some special reason very keen to see whats inside. Otherwise siteswhich are so closed that i can´t get a real look will just make me turn away usually.

Holdemfish - I like your site--its clean, fast loading, and a lot of content for anonymous users. As for limiting the forum access, I choose to limit access as well. I have limited access to the forums and fun stuff (crosswords, games, puzzles etc.) to registered users for two reasons
1. the forums are not that active, and since it is only me it is easier to control/monitor them.
2. I put a lot of work into the fun stuff section, and feel that by registering (its free)my work is not in vein.
At this point my site is not as content extensive as yours, and I hope that it will grow.
As for people turing away because they cant have access well, so be it, I cant do anything about peoples preferences.
Just my two cents.

Here is my first XOOPS site that I created.

Reeniemania.com - A little something for everyone!

Considering I did not know the program at all it took me awhile to learn everything, but I finally got the hang of it. Please bear in mind that I am still working on it, and believe me I still don't know the direction it is going in, but it has been and still is a great fun side project for me.

Would love to here feedback and comments.
