Wait a second. Is there actually a way to activate an RSS feed for the News page, without a third-party module? And if so, how and where do I activate that.

I got the idea from reading this, on the RSSFit webpage:
"Unlike the official XML backend of XOOPS that works just for news"

So how to I activate the "official" syndicating for news???

Blah. Why do I always post just moments before I find the solutions. A simple Xoops.org search would have worked <sigh>

Anyway, I found a likely solution. For anyone interested, here is the appropriate post with info on RSS syndication.

Hey all! I don't suppose there's any easy way to implement syndication with RSS or atom feeds, for the News module in XOOPS is there? Or perhaps there exists a cloned News module that implements feeds?

I *could* use something like the adapted wordpress module for blog-like syndication, but I much prefer the traditional XOOPS News module.

Got it! Thanks, both of you. I did find the script pretty easy to modify and actually made similar changes myself. What was confusing me was the formatting - namely trying to figure out what why the AM or PM part seemed to be appearing in an odd place, what the spSTIM11 variable was actually originally intended for (ie. "Local Time"), etc.

Anyway, thanks! I hadn't realized off-the-bat that the theme was coded by a chinese or japanese dev!

Xoops 2.0.9 Features

Hey there, quick question. I'm currently running 2.0.7.3 on a website with pretty low traffic, which is currently serving mainly as a portal that I use to share pix, downloads, news, etc with friends. So basically I'm not running a high-traffic site.

Is there anything neat in 2.0.9 that would be worth checking out? And is there a huge number of bugs? I'm not runing a production website here but I still don't want a horiffic number of bugs that make the site *completely* useless!

I'm curious what others' experience has been!

no that theme is different. I think it's the old xoops.org theme. the one on the XOOPS site now is much nicer and has no css bugs on older browers, unlike the old one.

Ocean Net Theme Clock

I have this weird bug in all of the Ocean Net themes that display (what I am assuming) is a clock in the upper right corner of the header. It is all garbled. Any idea what the problem is? Is it a language issue? I checked out the javascript code and the time stamp formatting seems pretty garbled too.

This may have been asked before, but... is there ANY way I can get the theme that is used on the XOOPS website? It's so nice! I love the menus! And if not, is there a clone out there anywhere?
