I tried dropping the tables but once the profile module was installed there were no users on the system.

Any ideas?

I suggest changing to a Project Repository.

No files on xoops.org - just information about a project or module and a link to the developers site and location of the lastest release.

The project developer should be able to edit the XOOPS project page if anything changes - eg. new version.

An RSS feed of changes on the Project site could be used to announce new module releases or new projects.

I think it is almost impossible to solve this with the current description of the problem - hence asking again and again with no further description is unlikely to yield you an answer.

You need to switch on debugging in system preferences and see what each setting gives you.

I can tell you it is unlikely that debian is the cause per se as I run several debian machines with xoops. If you don't have email setup on debian then this may prevent the email being sent but it should not give you a blank screen. Check that you can send mail from the machine from a mail client on the machine - eg. mutt. Check that sendmail exists and that the path is correct in xoops. Do a clean install of XOOPS and see if you get the same blank screen. Look in the apache error logs - and the mail log - both in /var/log.

You must use detective work to find your problems...

Damn I hate the politics...

Maybe when 2.1 settles down all the fixes could be snuck in...

Or do you think 2.1 breaks your code thanks to the new modules...

(way off topic btw!)

I agree completely... shame I am unable to do anything about it until my php skillz improve...

You on the otherhand may be able to help but last I heard you were contemplating the merits of Mambo...

This was on my therapy list of wishes:

https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=36459&forum=11

which scares even me now that I look at it again!

Cheers,
Graham

The weird thing is that I turned on email activation and yet failed@soon.com still got through... can this really be a real person?

Has anyone else recently got a lot of fake registrations...

Things like:

Username: failed
Email: failed@soon.com

or

bodacious_babe83@hotmail.com

etc. etc.

It is very annoying!

Since my site is for .edu people maybe I should insist on a .edu email address...

Do you have a link to the site? I don't understand what you mean...

Are you trying to import a menalto gallery database into a xoopsgallery module?

Try checking the permissions of the cache directory (777)

Your plan:

1) Clone your template set (templates, clone)
2) Switch your site to the cloned set (preferences)
3) Go to the news templates, generate, then edit the correct template (find the correct one by looking at the content and the template name)
4) Add your google adsense under the body of the article in the template - save
5) Try reload but if nothing changes then delete the cached templates in /templates_c

Should be done...

2.1.1 is a development snapshot - I hope you are just trying it out and not using it on a production site!

You need to use the extended profiles module - which must have correct group access. It is a bit of a mess at the moment as it is still in rapid development but you can add users from:

Modules - Extended Profiles - Users
