I got the same spam on my shoutbox! Using the Anonymous567* as the id of the poster.
In my setting I have allowed anonymous module access, so they can still read the shoutbox, but disallow them to post through the template (if I'm not mistaken).
I guess that what has caused they can spam the shoutbox?
Appreciate any solution to this.

i must confess i am *addicted* to xoops.

i found that my Top Poster block (from the XOOPS system) showing 'incorrect' top poster. from my observation i found that people posting in the xcgal module receiving a lot of count in the top poster ('posts' field in the users table if i'm not mistaken) - posting a picture will result in a lot of count for his/her post.
any of you can shed a light how can i fix this. trying to look at the code of the xcgal program but couldn't find where/which program has updated that 'posts' field in the users table.

if you don't have lot of forum messages in your current phpbb, i would suggest you to start fresh using the cbb.
the current x-phpbb port we have does a core hack, which will limit you in upgrading your XOOPS or phpbb. the latest news i heard from koudanshi (the author of bbpixel/x-phpbb) that he will have more time in working on the phpbb-xoops integration.

basically most of the XOOPS modules are not clonable. only certain modules can be cloned.
you won't be able to install the second instance of article module. try to use other article/news modules if you really require to have a second instance of article module (such as AMS, wf-sections, smartsection, etc).
