Sorry to be such a dork but your jargon did not clarify anything for me. I am not familiar with XOOPS Jargon yet. Someone please clarify.

Thank you

How do I get my Links catagories to appear above my forum.

You see all I want to start the site out with is links and a forum nothing else initially. I do however want all the link catagories to appear above the forum. I have the default page set to the forum and that works great. Now I need the links catagories to appear above that.

Please, I have looked in the documentation and have not been able to figure it out.

Thank you

OK then no answers.

I have this SQL code

THis is to insert a catagory, easy enough.

INSERT INTO `xoops_mylinks_catVALUES (10'Communities''http://');

This is the SQL for inserting a link.

INSERT INTO `xoops_mylinks_linksVALUES (11'ScurvyDawg.com''http://www.scurvydawg.com/'''1110755331870'0.0000'00);

Now my question is, the date reads - 1075533187 - What is this number is it the date? is it ok if I import a whack of links with this the same on all of them??

Any caveats would be welcome before I do a mass import.

Thank you.

OK this has got to be a really big newbie question. It seems I can not get my news stories to appear on the front page. I have the headlines appearing the way I like. I have some other blocks played around with a bit.

However every block that has anything to do with News only lists links to the news not the news blocks themselves as they do at the bottom of this website on the main page.

THank you for not laughing

I have created my categories and now I have many links to add.

I am familiar with how to run an SQL query on the Db, however I require the file formats and any possible special instructions if necessary.

I figure I am not the first to ask so is there a link to the docs on this I can read, please.

Thank you really enjoying Xoops.

I know this is going to be a dumb newbie question, however I must ask.

I go to my admin panel and choose the headlines block.

Now I choose edit block.

I then choose edit template.

I make the changes I desire and all I get is a view button and no save submit or make changes button.

What am I missing??

Both Cpanel and Fantastico are very widely distributed.

Fantastico installs many scripts, however the host has to set it up to do so. If the host has made an error during the install fantastico will happily reproduce that error for every subsequent install.

I would say that the host made the error not Fantastico because I used Fantastico to install XOOPS at my host www.ezserver.biz and it worked wonderfully.
