OK this has got to be a really big newbie question. It seems I can not get my news stories to appear on the front page. I have the headlines appearing the way I like. I have some other blocks played around with a bit.

However every block that has anything to do with News only lists links to the news not the news blocks themselves as they do at the bottom of this website on the main page.

Are the stories "Publish in Home"?

Otherwise, I think that they will only be displayed if you select the category.

Hi, XOOPS.org uses the News Module as its front page. That's why the news/articles are shown that way. They are not blocks, but rather the index page of the News Module.

To do this, you have to go to System Admin > Preferences > Gen Settings and choose News as your home page.

Excellent!
I spent some hours looking for this hint. I was confused by the ambiguous usage of "Stories", "News", "Articles", "Topics", "Big Stories", in the blocks-setup. I looked for a documentation about this, but found nothing so far. Similar questions have been posted, but not answered so precise. Maybe this should be added the FAQ. (It it ever get's to work again.)
