Howdy,

I'm writing my first theme, with a view of creating a range of templates to go with it hand-in-hand. That's cool, I can just make a copy of the templates and edit away.

However ... what if I decide I want to kill off a module in my current development land - or more likely - add a module in. How to I cp/rm these new templates into my 'altered template environment'?

As an aside, the work I am doing will be released to the public. My aim is for two themes - one being a blue coloured theme with a very slight liquid gel look to it, and the other will be a medieval book, akin to my current Geeklog design. Check out the Barony of Innilgard website for a preview of what I'll be porting.

Anywayz .. hope I get a reply soon .. as I'm working on it now

Okay guys, PHP5 is around the corner and the ews of the day is SQLite integration.

Sure, MySQL isn't gone but many ISPs are going to go with SQLite due it a) being build into PHP5, and b) due to it's flatfile nature, it's alot easier for the ISP to manage.

Are there any plans for XOOPS to go with SQLite?

Hehehe .. hey dude ..

Yeah, I'm thinking more and more to use XOOPS for my webapp of choice, although my heart still sits with Tiki. I'm hoping once I get some time to be able to write some interactivity between the two.

AutoLinks and AutoAcronym

Two ideas, one already seen in the *nuke world.

AutoLinks

Simple enough, a core module which can link into any content (articles, forums, etc) that will replace a textual term with a auto-generated link. For example, replace the word 'ThisWord' with the code '(a href="CustomLink" title="CustomDescription")ThisWord(/a)'.

This could also be linked in with the weblinks area for things like clicking counting ...

AutoAcronym

Same as above, but to allow simple mouse-over hovers. For example, change 'WYSIWYG' with '(acronym title="What You See Is What You Get")WYSIWYG(/acronym)'.

page (xoops admin)?

As stated above, yes I did. I'll add in a simple block with the current 'user altered' time and see what happens, but it should work itself out.

Are there folks out there with different timezones over server to user location?

Hey folks, need some assistance.

Now, the server I run on is on the East Cost of the States ... so it's -5 GMT (and phpinfo() says as much) so I set as such in the general config area. I then set the default tiemzone for my location (Adelaide Australia which is +9.5) and made sure my account is set that way as well.

However, I'm looking at the Agenda-X module, and it's telling me it's still yesterday. Looks like something is borken here. Any ideas?

M

Yeah, that's pretty nice ... but rather than show (say) 1 news item and a list of 10 news items, I'd really prefer (in my case) 3 news items and a list of 10 items.

Has anyone worked a hack on this, seen something simular, or should I delve in and see what I can hack?

Howdy,

Next question :) I'm after a way to show the latest 5 news stories (as if I was looking at the news module itself), but I need it as a block sitting on the homepage. The reason is I'm planning on combining a bunch of info for the homepage -- and want to keep the news module page clean, so it's easier to see the past 15 news articles.

Any ideas here?

I have a question, about the use of URLs.

Let's say I install the sections module, and call it 'Articles' ... now, clicking on Articles in the mainmenu brings you to url/modules/sections ..?

Yes, I'm picky but this doesn't seem right. If I copy the sections subdir to an 'articles' subdir, will this work?

Now I should point out I'm looking at the API and standards level here. Is the path/url hardcoded, is it probed from the filesystem, etc etc ...

Another good example is Agenda-X .. I'd like to shift it to Calendar :)

What are peoples experience here, both at a coding level and a usage level?
