There was a visitor2 statistics module, that was available for 1.3.x but it was eliminated due to some security issues.

There are several news articles and forum threads regarding visitor2 that should answer all of these questions.

Thread here!

You'll have to create a one-block module. Check out jan304's Sample Module (http://www.jan304.org) and dive into the code.

I had done like prahalad... But in the home page I get first the Recent News and then the Welcome message. How can I get first the Welcome Message?

Thanks

OK. After searching forum for "welcome block", I got the way to issue that. However, I don't want to assign the administration access right of [block] and [group] to whom work for issuing announcement/public notice/welcome.

Is there any module built/download to provide the way to do so?

Sorry I forgot to tell you that you also need to modify the '/path/to/xoops/directory/' in login.php to your settings.

Oekaki is a bulletin board where you have the ability to draw a picture using an applet online. It would be nice if someone could create a XOOPS module of this that would function similarly to Oekaki Poteto (http://suteki.nu)

If you'd like to check it out, you can see samples of Oekaki Poteto at

http://oekakicentral.com

or my website at http://nairohe.com/oekaki/

I don't have very extensive knowledge of PHP but I'm looking around the codes on Oekaki Poteto to see if there's a way to convert it as a XOOPS module. I really don't know much but I was just hoping someone very profecient on PHP would try his hands on it since it would be a very nice addition for XOOPS sites, especially artist sites.

Thanks!

You'll definitely want to take some time to read the MySQL documentation either that came with your installation or here. This might help as well.

Basically, you've got to do the following:

1. Install MySQL
2. Create a database user that XOOPS will use
3. Give access to log in to the database user
4. Create a database instance that XOOPS will use
5. Give access to the database instance to the database user

I think that just about covers everything, but I'm not sure. Good luck!

I put login.php in my ssl enabled dir, I changed the general settings to point to https://myip/login.php . . . it still doesn't work. I tried to go to login.php directly and it gives this error

Warning: main(/path/to/xoops/directory/mainfile.php) [function.main]: failed to create stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/html/login.php on line 7

Warning: main() [function.main]: Failed opening '/path/to/xoops/directory/mainfile.php' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php/:/usr/share/pear/') in /var/www/html/login.php on line 7
