Hello
i tried to rename xfguestbook to name 'zonar'
i opened each single file and searched for word xfguestbook and rename to zonar. i was carfull to rename only the xfguestbook word come between links like module/xfguestbook/

and on the admin folder the file admin_header.php
the statment: $xoopsModule = XoopsModule::getByDirname("xfguestbook");

to
$xoopsModule = XoopsModule::getByDirname("zonar");

i also changed the folder name and the statment of the folder name found on xoops_version.php..

Installed the Module Ok but when go to the Module page and admin page i get error.
This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

You can provide the following information to the administrators of this site to help them solve the problem:

Error: Handler does not exist
Module: zonar
Name: msg

that what the debug message shows .
i have searched if someone already done it but i found all had the same error ..

check to see if you missed renaming in some of the includes.

Look in every file for the (example)

check the sql file also

You may have to change class names.

i actuly tried rename it to different names and carfuly change the xfguestbook name ..

and the word xfguestbook was most between the url links like , module/xfguestbook/ .. and found admin_header and also on the block file ..

still same error .. well if you google this issue u find others who tried to rename it and had the Same problem .

Hope on of you Guys try and see ...

The internal error comes from faults with the replacing in the /modules/xfguestbook/class/msg.php file.

try to uninstall the module (remove the tables created by the module) and install again to see if the problem persists.

I've downloaded this version, changed all accurances of "xfguestbook" to "zonar", changed also names of all files containing "xfguestbook " to "zonar", installed, and it works w/o any problems.

So maybe you haven't change the names of the files? For example, "xfguestbook_new.php" should be renamed to "zonar_new.php".

Thx Mamba , can you Please Upload it for me , because i wanted to rename to Zonar and u have Done it , so that would save me Hustel.

But you should try to see if this was the problem, so at least you can learn what you've done wrong.

It took me 5 minutes to do the find/replace inside the files using Notepad++, and then changing the names of files.

As they say: "Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime."

So let's try to find out first what was the problem, OK?

Yah Mamba i totaly agree about the fish thing , .....

Update : i Downloaded the Version from the Link u sent Earlyer and tried edit that One and I got it to work .. i have no idea why the Version i had won't work it was suppose to be V2.51 .. it seem who ever updated it to 51 from v2.50 messed up something :) ... thx Mamba and about the Fish Thing I love Cod Fish as matter of Fact This 4 Julay Holiday i will be Grilling or Frying Some .. :)
