Make Profile Extra Info Length Longer

I need to make the user profile Extra Info text area field longer. I looked through this site and the system module files, but I cannot find any way to make the field show more text when you save changes to your profile. You can type an endless number of characters in the field, but it will only save a small number of them.

in edituser.php...try serach this line

$edituser->setVar('bio', xoops_substr($_POST['bio'], 0, 255));

change the 255

That is the correct field to change but there is more you have to do. I changed mine to 1024 and it works. You have to edit a database field as described in this post:
