Need urgent help about blanck page debug message

I just upgraded my site to 2.0.17 and after that when i tried to access http://www.mysite.com/upgrade/
i got a blank page
same is the case with
http://www.mysite.com

now then i did changes in the file common.php to enable debug mode

Warning: Unterminated comment starting line 1373 in
 /home/my id/public_html/baqaians/site/class/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1373


and
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting T_FUNCTION in
 /home/my id/public_html/baqaians/site/class/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1373


kindly help me what to do now?

Did you check file integrity by running checksum.php?

Ok i checked the file integrety and some file were invalid.

i corrected them

the blank page is gone now but now the site does not let me log in .

i have repaired and truncated the XOOPS session in phpmyadmin but that didnt help either
and the debug mode is on but now no error info is given

what should i do now?

correction

it tells me

thankyou for looging in ADMIN.if the page does not redirect you then click here

but it then redirects me to the same page i.e the "maintainance notice page" and i am not logged in
