Permission bug in newbb2???

Even after moving a thread/post to a private forum, we are discovering that users with no permission can still view the thread/post in this private forum as long as they kept the original URL. (The original URL had a forum id# which they had permission to access.)

Is this a bug? If so, anyone know how to fix this?

It could very well be a bug. Newbb is very old now. CBB is the current development of newbb. Maybe upgrading to CBB will solve your problems, if not development is ongoing so any bugs will be fixed.
