I have cbb installed on

Apache/1.3.33
MySQL 4.0.25-standard
xoops 2.0.13
PHP/4.3.11

Most of cbb is working fine. However I've not been able to get wysiwyg editing. I'm assuming that somehow at the end I'll be able to really have wysiwyg with cbb/xoops, but have not seen such on a XOOPS site yet. I've seen it on website baker sites so I'm guessing it's possible here too.

I don't want formatting to posting to be applied via the textbox that the dhtml form uses, I want wysiwyg.

On the cbb msg posting form, there is a list "select your desired form type". Picking any of those and submitting changes nothing on the form that I can see.

At the cbb admin page, I have all forum options selected (dtml through FCK Editor).

I've looked around to see if I'm supposed to have any of these editors installed separately and so far have come to no conclusion...but haven't found any modlues for them either, so I think they're supposed to just "work". It wouldn't be typical for them to appear in the form list if they were not available to xoops.

I have posted about this as a part of a long thread in the beginners forum, but that thread didn't solve this issue, so I'm posting about it here in the hopes that someone can lay out the steps to get this working.

Thanks

Have you enabled HTML for the forum you try to use WYSIWYG?

Yes, and I've been able to insert images etc into posts...and can change font colors just like this, but using the (rather clumsy imho) dhtml textbox and control set.

Are those other form packages supposed to come "with" cbb/xoops?

Seems you have not done it

You mean, withing each forum, the "Allow HTML" setting? Those are set to yes. I'm not sure what else "I mean 'enable HTML from Moudule admin=>forum'" might point to? As I said I can use the dhtml form type.

peekay was kind enough to send me the zip for the kovoi editor. However it didn't install well. The instructions say to move the wysiwyg folder to modules and place system_imagemanager.html into the system/templates folder. I get errors:

Module File for wysiwyg Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!Module File for Not Found!

And

Notice [PHP]: Constant _MI_TEXT already defined in file modules/xoopspartners/language/english/modinfo.php line 38

I need help with this...the three of main modules that I need to use with XOOPS are not working.

start here....

http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/showfiles.php?group_id=1155

CBB/NewBB added the pulldowns for the wysiwygs so that you wouldn't have to....but they still require being installed into the XOOPS framework in order to work.

I have gotten all of them to work to some degree....but imho none of them work well enough to expose 'noob' users to them

FCK Editor works the best for my setup...
others swear by kovoi....and others spaw....
so ultimately I think you will need to install each of them and make your own decision. I highly reccomend a 'test' site to do this one...and also reccomend doing them one at a time, so that it is easier to remove them and set all of the core files back to the way they were before the install....and to avoid conflicts between the various editors.

Good luck, and let us know which one you ended up going with!

Happy xoopsing!
