Alright there,

I have installed the file manager 3.0 module and I have no idea what its supposed to do. How could it benefit a small intranet I am building,

On my site there are files that will need downloading, does this mod provide an area to download them or something?

Sorry - im a big noob! - but learning all the time, if someone could explain in layman terms I would be very grateful.

this module is made to manage files on your web server.
also you can add, remove, rename or edit your files.
you can also create folders of course.
keep in mind that a module as filemanager is very dangerous if not very well set up.
