First off, I've previously worked with PHP-Nuke and PostNuke and someone said something about XOOPS and I decided to check it out. I have to say this is LOADS better than Nuke will ever be! Your system is cleaner, friendlier, faster, and it just looks better than Nuke! I'll never be able to go back to Nuke and I've only be using your system for a couple hours. You have one satisfied fan here!

Now to my problem, I installed the Galeria Module, following the instructions in the Readme file that accompanied the download. I extracted the files in the root folder of my site and then ran the install from the Module Admin Panel. It installed successfull. The Readme encouraged me to create a new gallery and template to test the install, so I went to do that, and three errors occured. Two of them were that the script could not create new directories, so I changed the permissions for the Galeria directory to allow for Directory Creation. That solved the first two. Now, I still get the third error, which is:

Error /home/noodle/public_html/sting/modules/uskolaxgallery/images/Sims2/big
Error /home/noodle/public_html/sting/modules/uskolaxgallery/images/Sims2/small
Error Inserting. 1

I have no clue as to what happened, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to create a gallery of screenshots from The Sims 2 and other things.

i'm not sure i've heard of that gallery module (uskolaxgallery)

but it maybe to do with your graphics library.. have u checked GD, GD2, netpbm or imagemagik settings at all? just tryin to narrow it down..

failing that, there's a few other excellent gallery modules you might want to check out..

It appears in the Admin Panel as Galeria...but yes, the moduel you stated is the one I'm using.

I went into Cpanel and there was nothing there about Image databases and such.

I have no idea what GD, GD2, or any of that stuff is...

ok check in the admin section of that module, maybe in preferences or configuration.

as i don't know that module at all i don't know the options..

but look for something relating to image management or graphics, thumbnails method..

look for anything that has an option to select GD, GD2 or netpbm etc.. and set it to GD2 initially if u can.. most servers are setup with GD enabled as default so it's likely you have GD library's installed (they're part of php)

also, try to make sure that the albums folders are writable..

chmod 777 modules/uskolaxgallery/images
chmod 777 modules/uskolaxgallery/images/sims2

also chmod 777 any folders inside the images folders etc.. and any other folder that's likely to need write access.. such as cache folders and uploads folders..

Wow...silly me!

I forgot to create the table entries! It says right there in the Admin panel...Install Table Entries. I ran the script and now everything works a-okay!

Ok...I lied...

I was able to create the directories okay...and create the StyleSheets for the gallery and presentation, but now when I submit a photo, it loads a blank page...

Also, I can't add photos from the Admin panel, it just pops up with this:

Argh!...Also, there is nothing in the module's admin panel about setting what database it uses for the images.

do you have a link where i can download that module, so i can install it and see if i get the same errors?

well it looks like u got further than i can..

i installed it, and went to click add tables.. and it flashed and didn't do nothin.. in fact none of the admin options seem to do anythin..

turnin on php debug made it even worse and produced lots of page not found errors and some looping..

using x 2.0.9.2, php 4.3.10, MySQL 4.1.8 and apache 2.0.52

very strange.. but i do know the other gallery modules work well :)
