I did a search on "date format" but didn't find anything on how to set the global format for XOOPS so that dates will be displayed as Oct 13, 2004 or 10-13-2004 instead of 2004-10-13.

Surely there is an easy way to do this, but I haven't found it yet. Any suggestions appreciated.

Heh, you're already referring to it in your post, actually check the language/yourlang/globals.php file, waaaaaay down the file the date format is globally set.

There is a new setting being applied to the next major release of XOOPS (2.2?) that will allow this attirbute to be changed to most common values like D/M/Year/, M/D/Year etc I think.

Great! That's where it ought to be. Will it then, I wonder, override date format settings in individual modules?
