Hi,

1. The problem
I'm new to XOOPS and I've got the "login page -> thanks for logging -> back to login page" problem. I just can't login, XOOPS always sends me back to login page.

2. My configuration
Local machine 127.0.0.1
WAMP:
Apache 1.3.31
PHP 4.3.8
MySQL 3.23.49
Windows XP
Tried with easyPHP, same problem

3. What did I try?
I've read many posts related to this problem and tried all the workarounds I found but none fixed my problem. register globals, http referrer, output buffering, cookies, firewall. I can login on xoops.org but not on my local machine so it doesn't seem to be a browser issue.

4. What did I find?
The user.php (include checklogin.php) works fine, login is accepted and $HTTP_SESSION_VARS['xoopsUserId'] is filled, but when I'm redirected to index.php (include common.php), the $HTTP_SESSION_VARS['xoopsUserId'] variable is empty...

5.What I'm asking for
I'm nearly sure that it's not a XOOPS problem, but a bad server configuration. I ask for your help to find correct httpd.conf & php.ini. Any other suggestion is welcome.

It was a firewall problem (Zone Alarm). I tested before posting by deactivating it but unsuccessfuly. After reading Herko's reply, I completely shutted down the application and it worked. Realy strange...
I configured Zone Alarm to accept 3rd party cookies and now it works well.
Now I can start developping my module :)

Stupid question but are you sure to type the correct password ?

Are you using some softeare firewall? If so, then add the site to the trusted sites list, as they can block HTTP HEADER information.

I'm sure the password is correct (I get the "thank you for logging in" page). Merci quand même ;)

I've just installed e-novative wamp and it seemed change the problem. I can login but once I'm logged in, anything I do will send me back to login page :(

Any Idea?
