Should we see an announcement of XOOPS 2.0.7rc?

Unless we want to "stealth test" the RC version.

Just noticed changes of uname and pass to username and password in some of the forms. Are these applied globally in the new version?

I'm not sure if an announcement will be made for the RC or not. It is a possibility, it has been done before.

A general rule of thumb for casual users and non developer types is to wait for an official release on XOOPS.org

Anyone using the RC from the sourceforge before official word on this site /may/ break their site and it is not generaly recommended because of very last minute changes that could occur after a user has downloaded the package.

A date has not been set on the full release of 2.0.7, which is only a bugfix release to the core files. An announcement will be forthcoming of course and that is the major one people should look forward to.

I don't think I will use it on a production site since it is afterall a Release Candidate. I think the more people test it, the better for bug-fixing, and the sooner the 2.0.7 being released . Is that the purpose of a Release Candidate?

I was just a bit surprised of no words mentioning it while it has been uploaded 4 days ago. That's all for my little inquiry. Hope to see the release of 2.0.7 soon.

The first RC is a developer release (all XOOPS Core releases are first released within the dev community, and then here for the general public).

By the way, did you notice XOOPS is now in the TOP 10 of most active projects on SourceForge??
