Hi,

i am coding a portal community where i would have by default to all users to go to a first logon screen where i would show generic information about the community. Once the user has entered login and password i then would want to have him taken to the news module (Or any other one predefined).
I have been trying a lot of alternatives without success.

Regards,

Danyblue

You could use the siteclosed setting, and edit the siteclosed page template and message to show your initial community page, and give registered users access to the closed site...

Re: Initial Module based on register privileges

Hi,

This seems like a good temporary solution. If you really want to close the site for maintenance you can just remove the access rights to the closed site from the registered users group.

Only disadvantage is that your main page will not state anything like: This site is closed for maintenance.

Maybe a hack would be a better alternative, at least then you would not need to "abuse" the close site functionality.

Martijn
