anyone knows of article module with this features?

hi

I am looking for an article's mod but with this features:

a) Allow to create areas where each article will belong
b) Allows people to rate the article
c) Allows people to comment the article right behind it, but in a tree-view style (check http://www.codeproject.com/cs/media/warplane.asp you can see comments under the article, i would like that style)
d) Allows to enter multiple pages articles and html rich format


I saw a couple mods but they don't have all of that. Anyone knows if there is one existing? it is the basic article's mod features so i am sure there is one but i can't find it.

wfsections by Catswolf does all that and more. I assume by "Area" you mean categories.

Comments can be nested, flat, or threaded.

I have a version for download at a site I am building. T

Static HTML pages can be included too.

Soapbox is also a very good recent addition, which is magazine style, and sets of articles are attached to "Columns" like a writers column in a magazine. It has a very good rating system included.

about soapbox, do you know of any website using it?
so i can see it working...

i only see where to download it but i can't compare with any other till i install it then.

Installing it sounds like a good idea? Only a 5 min job in Xoops, best way to find out the features at the back end. At the front end you only see the HTML output.

I installed about 7 modules before I found my preferences. Considering it was created by one of the developers of this site, I dont think you will do yourself any damage..

If you search the forums for "soapbox" you may find someone who is using it.

hey guys,

i have cloned soapbox ("articles" in main menu), if that's the appropriate term, and did a few modifications. for my purposes it's an excellent module.

tjnemez, is your soapbox clone cloneable? :)

Id luv to use a few copies of it in a site im working on.

How is it working for you ?

hey krayc,

i dont't think so. i did not edit mysql, so the tables are created as per original module. i did however overwrite "soapbox" with "articles." i also modified the templates. presently, as far as i know, when blocks are activated ie: "recent articles" you will get a blank index.
hsalazar is working to correct this issue, so cloning at this point is not a good idea if you want to upgrade when issues are corrected. for my purposes the module is working fine.

to run two copies you would have to edit MySQL on one copy and that could be complicated, but not impossible. you should probably run this by hsalazar or someone more knowledgeable than myself.

nothing, i can't find anyone's website using soapbox

if i install soapbox and i don't like it, can i uninstall it and all the tables/data on the database will be removed automatically?

the problem is that i don't have much space available that's why i want to see it somewhere before installing it

read my post again, i am using soapbox but have changed the menu item to articles. have a look at my site. maybe it will help you with your decision.
