Are there a way I can let Anonymous users choose a nickname when commenting?

I haven't seen anyone mention how to acheive this yet. It would be a nice addition though.

Currentyl you can only assign a name..for instance instead of annonymous..you can put "too shy" as your default in preference for annonymous posters.

It doesn't seem like something that would be worth too much trouble to make it "selectable"...
that's why we have members after all.

Oh, I see...

I was asking 'cause once I saw a NewBB hack on a Japanese Site (I must have it on Bookmarks somewhere...) that enables anonymous users to post using a Nick.

It can certainly be done as you have seen for yourself, it's just a matter of somone taking the time to figure out a way to get it to work with XOOPS

But since I know nothing of PHP it might be a little tough.

I hope someone can help too~

EDIT: I gave up... but it's the guestName function. It's on post.php and include\forumform.inc.php or forumformlite.inc.php or quickform.inc.php
