Hi Alienhand,

It seems like there's a problem with php catching the query string.

Try to make a new test to only check the phpMail() function, like this:

<?php
 mail
("alienhand@gmail.com""Direct test of phpMail""This is a testmessage.""From: alienhand@gmail.comrnReply-To: alienhand@gmail.comrn");
 echo (
"Testmail send.");
?>

This code will just send the email, and say it's send.

Good luck.
Best regards,
Daigoro

Hi JamesSAEP,

The page you are trying to see is japanese, and therefore require that your computer is able to display japanese signs. I, too, hate to see all those questionmarks, so I usualy select to install all languages when I install my opperative systems. You can add them, too.
You don't need to install the input methods (on windows it's called IME) unless you also want to be able to write it.

If you just want to read the page, then you can use services such as translate.google.com.

Here's a translated version of the site you posted.

I made a very simple module to insert my own html and php.
It basically does nothing, except allows you to use XOOPS to display your contents.
You can find a description here.

AFAIK it's not possible to get the old xoopsmembers module. However, a replacement (xoops2_mod_xmmemberstats_2.0e_XOOPS2.0.x_SMD_Flash.zip) is available here.

Hope it helps.

I was just helping a friend with some css issues he had on xoops, and notived that the greenGrass theme he's using appears to be css only.
There's alot of questions about a xf_greenGrass theme on xoops.org, so I guess it's the original name. However, it's not in the repository.
(I'll have my friend email it to me.)

It's only if the text you are having problems with are actualy written inside the themes files that the encoding of the themes files will matter.
As I understood it, you were having problems with contents and text from various modules.

But if you are unsure, you should definitly make sure all your language files are saved in the right encoding.
Next you should make sure all strings in your database is also in the right encoding.

Since you have allready had it up and running with uft8 on all your supported languages, I do however belive you have no encoding problems with your files nor the database.
I do rather belive the theme you are trying to use, tries to display your text with a wrong encoding.

Red_Slider,

You are right. All files are writting in specifict encodings and you need to make sure the editor you are using will actually save the contents with that specific encoding.

Thus, if you try to show UTF8 encoded contents using ISO-8859-2 (pretty close to the Windows encoding in 1250), you will get two wierd looking characters for every character that's outside the normal (US) 128 chars in the ASCII definations.

The other way around, and you will also end up with some pretty strange characters.

However I don't think this is the problem here, as Lance actualy have the contents working, just with a different theme. This implies to me, that the contents is encoded correctly, but the visualisation (the theme) is screwed.

Okay.
When they come up with a solusion, please compare the old and new files, and post the differences here. It may be something others can learn from, in order to avoid simmilar problems in the future.

So the status is, the default XOOPS theme works. The TemasWeb theme does not work.

You mentioned cleaning up the theme.html file. What about the css file? Did you clean that, too?

As it appears to be a TemasWeb specific problem, and seeing that TemasWeb is actually selling their themes (see TemasWeb.com), did you try to talk to them about your problem?

Do you have an URL where the problem can be seen?
Best regards,
Daigoro
