Headlines Module for DBCS Language Xoops Sites Hack Released
The original Xoops Headlines Module requires PHP's mb_string extension for encoding and decoding DBCS characters to and from utf8, but unfortunately PHP 4.xx version of mb_string extension does not support such conversion other than japanese encoding ! So no RSS news feeds are possible in Chinese Xoops sites.
This hack will make Headlines Module for big5 and gb2312 encoding Xoops sites working again!
If other DBCS language users are interested by this hack, please make your request on my website http://www.guanxiCRM.com, I will try to integrate your language in next releases.

I just wanted to thank the many contributors to the Xoops wiki over the past few months! The documentation has been growing and improving rapidly thanks to everyone's efforts.
You will probably notice from the homepage (http://wiki.xoops.org), however, that there are many gaps still remaining.
I encourage anyone who feels they can contribute to do so. Even a short page will be a tremendous help in this effort... or just an outline or skeleton of a document... or an addition to or clarification of a previously started document.
The ultimate goal is for the wiki documentation to become a complete guide to Xoops - from installation to administration to theme customization to module development.
Even if you do not feel you are very knowledgable about Xoops, you are probably wrong
... you have probably learned many things that are not yet documented. Maybe you learned from personal experience installing or customizing your own site, or maybe you learned by reading/discussing something on the forums.
No contribution is too small! We need your help to complete this huge task!

FreeContent v2.11 released
FreeContent had been enhanced once more, with the latest version v2.11 it is know compatible with register_globals off, XHTML compliance, Smarty template and cache, Xoops built-in sitewide comments and search system integrated and more.

TinyEvent v1.0 released!
Some of you may remember the TinyEvent Calendar. Now it is back and working with Xoops 2.0.x! You can get it in the downloads section here at xoops.org!
This calendar is pretty good for sites with less events, who don't want to display a month view for only two events by example.
This calendar works with register_globals=off, is integrated into the xoops search and makes use of the xoops timezones.

TinyContent v1.1 released!
The TinyContent module now works fine with register_globals=off! You can get the v1.1 here at xoops.org in the downloads area!
Also the xoops-search is now integrated into TinyContent. In the package are language files for german, english and nederlands.
