This site will help you to discover the regions of the world, their history, and their nature through women and men who created it. You'll discover people who fought for projects, ideas: they built cities, universities, and institutions. They are Presidents, directors, artists, inventors ... Their paths may sometimes be subject to controversy, but they managed to build the unimaginable. We have started our Sagaplanet.com trip with New England in the US. One of the pioneer that came and discovered this region was Aymar de Chaste, a Knight Hospitallers, who was coming from France with the intention of discovering the New World. Before coming in America, the Knights Hospitallers had a great influence in Mediterranean area; they built fortresses like in Marseille or in Malta, under the directions of Jean Parisot de La Valette.They also fought against some armies like the ones of Saladin. This month, I propose you to do the reverse trip and to take the direction of South of France, in a region called Provence Côte d'Azur. One of the founders of the Knights Hospitaliers, Gérard de Martigues, was coming from there. It is a sunny and warm region that attracted quite a number of artists like Picasso, Matisse or Bréa. It is an independant country , that generated people like Mirabeau or Sieyès who were key political people.It is a country that has always been enriched by people coming from other countries or other regions. From Cote d'Azur to Alpes , like in Mercantour , you will discover a region with transparent waters, mountain lakes, forests and lavande fields... Vulnerability in Protector if placed in DocumentRoot
We've been made aware of a vulnerability of the Protector, if placed in the DocumentRoot
This is for all versions of XOOPS, if the XOOPS_TRUST_PATH (or xoops_lib) directory that contains the Protector, is placed in the DocumentRoot
As we've always communicated to you (e.g. in this article A Guide to Make your XOOPS Installation even more secure), the best solution is to place your xoops_lib folder outside of webroot path. You should also change the name of xoops_lib to something different, and modify the mainfile.php accordingly.
If you are not allowed to do so, add .htaccess to protect your Protector module:
The .htaccess should be placed in /xoops_lib or whatever the name of your XOOPS_TRUST_PATH is.
If .htaccess is not allowed or enabled on your server, turn off global_register on your server.
If you are not allowed to do any of the above, then the only solution is to remove Protector module from your server and wait for a complete fix of the module.
Of course, the best scenario would be to have clean and safe code. Unfortunately, we've missed this security bug, but we're working on the solution and will release it soon.

In order to generate funds to cover the cost of hosting our servers, we have opened a new Cafepress Shop, and we want the community to help us design cool and unique XOOPS images for t-shirts, mugs, caps, etc.

Video Tube v1.81 Release Now Available
Video Tube v1.81 is an XOOPS module providing the ability to search, embed and manage videos on your site. Search, preview and auto-fill submission offered for YouTube, DailyMotion, MetaCafe and blip.tv plus a manual submission form for all other video services that offer video embedding.
This is a beta release intended to address some of the feature requests we have received. Some of the new features include full language support, html class attribute assignments and module style css, elimination of all hard-coded text moving everything to language files, addition of subcategories, complete rewrite of the category management admin interface, optional category selection display utilizing fieldset form with breadcrumb header, automatic comment reply title assignment using the video title, and changing several of the video table fields to text from varchar eliminating length restriction problems.
Be advised this release has only been tested with XOOPS 2.3.1.
We will be adding language translation files as we receive them.

XOOPS mentioned as one of three CMS projects for 2009
Dave Porter in his 2009 Web Predictions mentions XOOPS as one of the three Open Source projects where web developers are moving to for running their Web sites:

First of all, we would like to wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year 2009!!!!!
We have ended 2008 on a very exciting note - XOOPS China Won OSSContest Award, a very prestigious award of the Chinese software industry. This is definitely a great achievement for XOOPS China, and XOOPS in general, and all XOOPSers all over the world can be very proud of it!
Other highlights of the month:
- XOOPS Innovation Award - for people who create something very unique and innovative for XOOPS. This time the award goes to Hong Kai Wu (tad) from XOOPS Taiwan for his work on various Tad-modules and his contributions to X School System !! Hong Kai Wu is also author of the "Easy Creation of Websites with XOOPS"
- XOOPSer of the Month Award: is given to XOOPS members who show extraordinary dedication to XOOPS, and go the extra mile for XOOPS. This month we would like to recognize: Susheng Yang (ezsky), the Webmaster of XOOPS China Website. It's the Webmasters of XOOPS local support sites who make the difference for all the people who don't speak English, and is sometimes their only entry to the wonderful world of XOOPS.
- XOOPS 2.3.2b - Security Release - for a couple of critical fixes, including an XSS vulnerability
- Olédrion 2.0 - the e-Commerce module for Xoops by Instant Zero
- French Community is working on updated catalog of XOOPS Modules
