The New Design of XOOPS China has been Online
XOOPS China is devoted to continuous improvement of the design. It’s been five months since the “new” theme of XOOPS China was online. We make a improved design according to the feedback. This design is still blue-styled, but much livelier and cleaner.

We apply 960 Grid System to make sure that it works well in most browsers. Meanwhile we improve the efficiency of coding, to lessen the loading time.
In addition to the new design, we shift from Mootools to JQuery. A lot of new features are created with JQuery.

The “New Post Panel” is completely redesigned. The tabs triggered by mouseover can be switched on and off with Toggle Effect.

HackFest Australia
Just letting you know I will be attending part of HackFest in the Google Offices Tommorrow - When I last checked there was 88 remaining tickets.
This year the Open Australia hosted event will be concentrating on mashups, you have seen one of these featured in on of my modules called X-Reaggregator.
I will be representing Xoops as myself in Australia's HackFest 2009..
Inspire 1.0 Final Released
It’s been quite a white since Inspire 1.0 Beta released. You may wonder why even a theme has a “beta” version.
Well, Inspire 1.0 was intended to be applied on XOOPS China only – there was no release schedule. However, as many people were interested in it and wanted to get an copy. I released the source file after getting the approve from XOOPS China administrators.
As you may understand, the first release was really in a hurry. The theme was not fully tested and many code related to XOOPS China hadn’t been removed. So many people find it difficult to apply Inspire 1.0 on their own websites.
I have acquired a lot of feedbacks from XOOPS China and according to these, I make some amendments.
The enhancement of Final compared to Beta (Changelog):
1. Fixed some messy code problems caused by encoding
2. The blue showcase area now displays center block by default
3. Fixed some CSS errors
4. Fixed a little problem of Green sidebar
5. Removed some XOOPS China-specific code
6. Applied new font stack for English users. Chinese users please add “Microsoft Yahei” on your own.
The theme is licensed under CC-3.0, please do not remove the credit in the footer.
Meanwhile, Inspire 2.0 is now in coding process. It will be released soon so please follow our blog or twitter.

New Xoops-powered Site for a Colorado Horse Rescue!
~ SAVE THE HORSES ~
HEAVEN’S GATEWAY HORSE RESCUE
This project was set into motion to save horses that are abused, neglected, abandoned or no longer needed or wanted for any reason. Our goal is to rehabilitate these horses and find them good, safe, happy and loving homes. Homes where they will never again experience the traumas that they have in the past. If it is impossible to rehabilitate them, they will live out their lives with us.
This project will pair human and horse. We will make sure they are properly paired. No ownership shall be released until we are completely satisfied that they are in the correct home. We do not want either the human or the horse to become unhappy.
This is a nonprofit organization (501c3) that runs strictly on donations. We would appreciate anything you are willing and able to offer.

We would like to create XOOPS User Groups all over the world, and start connecting with each other where we live, something similar to what CK2 Club did in Taiwan
For those of you who are on Facebook, you can become fans of some of the XOOPS local support sites or join our XOOPS Facebook Groups, and start connecting with each other.
The XOOPS User Group which will get organized and will conduct its first meeting by the end of the year, and will have the most members, will get attractive prizes!
So the challenge is on!!!

Hello community!
Finally I managed to release my company's website. Well, at least a big part of it. The website portfolio is still beta
but I'm working on it! We needed to show the other products we offer, so it's a work in progress.

The recent module they developed is xBooking - an Online Booking module, which was made for a charitable organization. It was written by Kimozi, the CK2 Club leader, and the theme of website is designed by Jack (he was once a newspaper art editor).

CK2 - XOOPS Club in Taiwan
One of the strongest XOOPS centers in Taiwan is around Tainan City, thanks to several dedicated programmers from there. One of them, Hong Kai Wu (Tad), who recently received a XOOPS Innovator Award, is a teacher at a local Community College. Three years ago he started teaching XOOPS course every Thursday night at the college, which became very popular. The course content focuses on building a website with XOOPS, XOOPS themes design and XOOPS module development.
Two years ago some of the students interested in XOOPS established CK2 club, focusing on XOOPS, with currently about 20-30 people. Kimozi (in real life a travel agency owner) is the club leader, and Tad is the instructor for the club.
They get together to program, but also to celebrate birthdays or other occasions - a true community spirit!
