Hello all. I have created four Menu icons for use with phpMyAdmin, eCal, and C-Jay Content following the howto by xoopldap. Of course, he's a lot better at it than I am.

However, they are more than just functional. The images are supplied in PNG format, which means that you can redesign them if you choose. Two of the icons were designed for phpMyAdmin, and one for each of the others, using Macromedia Fireworks. They can be downloaded here. Enjoy!

Just a note to say that this package now contains 5 menu icons. Right after posting this article, I completed an icon for myXoopsCart in the XOOPS button format. Anyone who downloaded the package would have noticed the change in the download description. Everyone who has thus far downloaded will have retrieved all five.

If I am reading this thread correctly, the font originally used was Neuropol. Perhaps the download is still available from the site in the thread.

Thanks. I tried to simulate that font, but couldn't find one on my system. Hopefully, those who download the initial pack can change the text themselves, since the images are not protected.

I tried the link for the font from the thread you posted, but it's not working. I will do a global search on the web and see if I can find it and make the changes on this end.

If someone reading this thread has the font, let me know how I can download it.

Ok, I did a quick search. Sure does not look like Neuropol to me, and there are several (read LOTS) different versions of this font.

No, the original font i used for creating these images is called "Bit3".

For those of you interested in creating other icons, here's a trick: try modifying the hue/saturation of the image (in PhotoShop or GIMP). This can yield a nice icon that is consistent in design with other XOOPS icons, but adds your own personal flare. Personally, I like keeping the core modules yellow, and changing my own to be faded red or light green or something.

Sure can, forlon. I would like to highlight it more, and use the correct font, but it's more than serviceable.

I downloaded Bit3, but it does not display exactly the same on my system and in Fireworks, tho close. It works with some words, but not with others. I'll keep working with it and post a message when it's ready.

A note to all that I just finished adding the font recommended by Chapi. I played with the configurations (anti-aliasing, kerning, and so forth) and the font now looks like the base font in the other XOOPS 2 icons.

Also, the font is included in the revised download. It's the Windows version. So, if you downloaded before 00:01 EST (USA) today, you can return to download the entire package again or just download the font and make the changes yourself.

As requested, I'm posting the parameters that I used with Macromedia Fireworks in creating the the XOOPS 2.0 Admin Icons set.

This config will probably work for most graphics apps using this particular font.
