i get this error when tring to install xoops, plz help

i get this error when i go to install xoops:

Fatal error: Unable to connect to database in /home/gtana/public_html/xoops/class/database/databasefactory.php on line 34

help plz

edit: i have tried replacing it 2wice

The error is that XOOPS can't connect to the database.
Did you (or your host) make a new database to be used by xoops?

i have made a new database and a user with full access permissions.

Assuming you have the correct database details are you sure that your PHP has MySQL support running? Try creating a .php file with:
<?php phpinfo(); ?>

It should give you all the details of your PHP. MySQL and version is listed as well.

Did you install using the database name, database username and password that go with the new database that you created for XOOPS in your MySQL admin of your Cpanel?

Make sure you installed entering the correct database name.

i have a MySQL database and a user with full permissions and when i type in the url for where it is installed, that error shows up.

Yes, but this means that XOOPS can't connect to the database you created, either the server can't be found, or the db username/password is incorrect. So check those in your mainfile.php.
